Kevin Sorbo indeed starred as Hercules in one of my personal four favorite shows of all time, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. But before he got that job, he was one of those who auditioned to be Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which of course eventually went to Dean Cain. Hence not so random.

I've never seen Kevin Sorbo in Hercules, seen him in other things. The bits that I like about this eps was with Mon'El and Kara.

I agree that what J'onn did was absolutely right. My problem is that he did not go far enough. Alex not only betrayed the DEO but then she disobeyed her suspension and took matters into her own hands by interfering with and potentially jeopardizing the mission to save the aliens. Everything turned out ok but she should have been terminated for her actions just like Kara was for doing something similar at her job.

So watching these episodes when they first aired, I wasn't a big fan of Mon-El or his relationship with Kara. But watching them back here, both his character and their relationship really work for me.
