Curtis Armstrong (Marv) is such an underrated actor. He does that pathetic, sympathetic, kinda charming bit so well. And he's usually one of the most interesting parts of any show or movie he's in. So glad he was cast here. Just to answer your question about rewinding live TV, yes it is possible. Here in the US most major cable and satellite TV providers will lease you a DVR box that allows you to record multiple channels at the same time. It also essentially is recording your current channel at all times. It creates a continuous buffer that allows you to pause and rewind by an hour or more.

Uh, yeah, any DVR device allows pausing and rewinding and recording of TV.

Crowly wants to control Amara and her power, keep her on his side, work for him, he's trying to manipulate her, if he lets her power grow too fast she can learn that she doesn't need to depend on him, if that happens he has no control of her, if he can get her to depend on him, then he has control.

Only appearance is young, she is far, far, from young.

Good reaction. Glad you found the episode good. So far this season we've at least had the story stay a part of every episode. The story related to Amara, at least. I took it as a similar effort we had with season 6 and Eve - but more interesting. And this time Amara has been an active issue, unlike with Eve where it was easy to forget all about her. It is nice to see the show acknowledge the fact that the human's posessed by demons have become victims over the years and that Sam is trying to change that now. Will it work though? There are likely reason's why you wouldn't want to leave a demon alive, and no other way to kill them then do it with the knife and that kills the human too. I think Sam is a good hunter, but he doesn't often act like it. My theory is that he does best when he has no one else there. When it's just him. If Dean is there, he doesn't do as well, for some reason. Just a theory. I was originally confused about where Crowley resided too, but this makes more sense. It's not supposed to be that easy to come and go from hell. Plus it would just be easier to do business from earth. Seems to be the demons' preference too. And Amara did say that she and dean were bound together. Including the need to protect each other. That's why she acted like that. And why it would likely be hard for Dean to bring himself to kill her. Everyone gets a bit weirded out by that scene between young teenage Amara and Dean. I choose to believe that the bond between them is just that - a bond and nothing more. Not sexual. But some see it that way. That's too troubling! eek! Amara's not really a teenager though. She's not human. So it just looks that way.
