o shit... one of the craziest episodes of the whole show

Christopher simeon

carisoprodol is the painkiller Fitz gave to daisy but he didn’t have enough to complete remove all her pain. Lots of people missed that detail. They also missed that if Fitz DIDN’T take out the inhibitor then Simmons would get shot and everyone in the lighthouse and the town would be attacked by the fears. It’s a morally grey decision not a right or wrong. Because both sides can lead to people dying or worse Many fans completely flipped on Fitz because HURTING DAISY to them means he is in the wrong. It’s about the WHOLE situation. He didn’t try to hurt anyone and he was trying to save innocent people as well as stop the rift and preventing Simmons from getting shot. Some people still can’t get over it. Even after many changes have happened since then.

Frank Tremel

Completely agree. And that's how I felt with Deke. He made morally grey decision to sell Daisy to Kasius to save innocent people from dying because of Daisy's stubbornness.

Macy

This episode really divided the fandom and still does to this day.

"Who are you talking to?" is probably my favorite line and delivery in the whole show. The shot of Fitz in his cell looking through the glass at Jemma is haunting. You see his reflection that looks like it's on her side - almost like a ghost of who he used to be. Fitz's season 2 brain injury coming back into play is very realistic too - AoS is great at pulling details from the past to reuse (gravitonium was 1x3!). Anyways I never knew this was a divisive episode - I love it completely and if anything made me like Fitz even more.

Second_Strike

My other comment got removed, possibly because I alluded to future episodes under the assumption Shan had seen them so I'll just say this: What Fitz did was truly horrific, and I understand why it divides the fandom. Personally, I don't think that acknowledging an evil act was committed for the greater good, and being unable to forgive that evil act need to be mutually exclusive. Fitz himself states that some people will never forgive him.

Kelly Parks

Did you see how Fitz's reflection in the cell window was next to Gemma, then walked away?

Signe (Seena) Stewart

Hands down, my favourite episode of season 5!! My third favourite overall. Iain is an incredible actor. Just... damn. Deke is amazing! I just love him. He's so like s1 Fitz as well. Remember him in the pilot? I feel so bad for Fitz. Because his TBI is definitely an issue. Poor Daisy too. Imagine lying there, hurt, scared, confused and bound by one of your closest friends. The trauma of that... on top of all the trauma from Cal, Jiaying, not to mention her childhood. I just wanna hug her. Coulson this last half of the season is a bit like season 3 Dean W. The inevitability of his fate just makes him care more about the people around him and less about himself

Curtis Murphy

No. I'm sorry but no. Many fans did not flip on Fitz. Many fans tried to justify what he did to Daisy(as you just did). He was not in the right in any way in this situation.

Curtis Murphy

The amount of people that tried to absolutely absolve Fitz of any wrong doing in this situation after the episode aired was so annoying. Bending themselves over backwards and emphasising the positives of this action whenever talking about it while downplaying the negatives.

Christopher simeon

All you have to do is look at the whole situation then you wouldn’t have that problem. Was it guaranteed that people would die from the fears. Yes. Because 5 people were attacked by them with one person being killed and it was expanding. Was it guaranteed that daisy would crack the earth apart. No. Even if she did they still had time to figure it out. The fear situation was happening now. Nobody is saying daisy should forgive Fitz. Nobody is saying there shouldn’t be consequences to his actions. But the audience at least should know that he is still on their side because what he was doing wasn’t to hurt the team intentionally. He didn’t even realize what he was doing until right before cutting into daisy. We saw him literally debating with himself to the point of a break. He was just put in a impossible situation and he made his choice. Some fans are just like when people in real life are asked about the trolley problem and they avoid answering or try to change the situation so they aren’t forced to make the hard choice. That option is not available. You think if he let Simmons and deke get shot and the fears keep attack that people wouldn’t dislike that choice either. Two hard choices and he choose and he lived with those consequences. Do you think if Simmons wasn’t at gunpoint he would still do it?

I love this eos, so much. Love your reaction to it.

Bisibia

No offense Curtis... but I'm seeing people make some pretty good points in defense of Fitz, while you've only said they're wrong without making any points of your own. So if you think ppl are just justifying his actions, why don't you explain why you feel how you feel?

Zoot!

It's the sports team mentality - "I love Fitz therefore he's the best no matter what and can never do wrong." Flawed characters are the most interesting. That's why I love Ward too.
