Sometimes I get annoyed at the nerfing of Supergirl's powers for the show. This one, in spite of what I felt was a very emotional climax (and excellent score by McNeely), has problems for me. Red Tornado is just a human-made robot, why couldn't she have just ripped it in half? I also don't like the overuse of her heat vision rather than using her other powers, especially her super-strength.

I definitely disliked a lot of some of the ways CBS ran this show. But that final showdown with the music and the flashbacks and her screaming gives me chills every time. That scene was well done.

There was a version of RT in the comics that was an air elemental that lived inside the android body built by Dr. Morrow. That version could create massive tornados pretty easily. This version seems to be a mix of that one and the more traditional version that you are used to. Sam Lane is an ass. He always has been. It’s his defining character trait. But seeing as he died in the comics this week (probably) I’ll stay respectful and keep the rest of my thoughts to myself.

I'm pretty much onboard with your reaction. Every Supergirl episode (so far) seems to have multiple story elements that are just wrong or stupid. But the good parts are really good...

I'm glad that I am not the only one who felt this way about Red Tornado on the show. I was so sad that Tio Moro and RT were used as one shot throw away characters. I would have preferred that they call him Tornado Tyrant instead. It would have made more sense.

Don't get me wrong, I like the show somewhat, but it takes a really high tolerance of cheesiness to get through much of it.
