I remember watching the first episode and also not getting what all the excitement was. I kinda put it off till someone told me to at least watch to episode 4. It now is one of my favorite show up there with GOT and Daredevil. Hope u pick it up 😊

That's right, the Twin Peaks vibe was intentional - you got a reference, that's pretty sweet. It is horror, mostly in a Steven King homage style. Not as intense as the creepiest Buffy episodes. Given how much you aren't interested in shows from the 80s, that'll count as a positive reaction. Plus the main cast is in middle school, so you can't ship anybody. I think the 1st ep is designed to get you to let the autoplay happen. :)

This show might be more fun binged... because it's more like a long movie than like a tv series. As for not getting hooked yet, there's barely been any interaction among the main characters yet. For instance, this is the first time the boys have seen Eleven. I didn't love it right away, but it's a fun show for sure.

Ok, so here's what happened. Angel popped in the pilot room and was excited about having gotten a pilot tier spot. I told him congrats and that I secretly hated him (joking of course) and we got to talking. We've gotten friendly on DIscord since then. He basically said well I have no idea what I'm going to select the first time out and I was going to ask for suggestions, so since I know you were trying to get a spot as well, why don't I give the first month to you? I said well, I don't want you to do that and there was back and forth and finally I said well, only if you don't know what you want to pick and if you really want to give the pick to me, then here are a couple suggestions. We agreed on this one. I also said that if I ever get a pilot tier spot, I will do the same and give the first month's pick to someone. Anyway yeah, just got thru the intro. Looking forward to seeing what you think...

Answering your question, it took me two episodes to get hooked up. So, give it a chance and keep watching it. You'll not get dissapointed

...big fan of the show especially all the great music, any show that uses Joy Division automatically earns some respect from me 😛, the big nice diner owner who fed eleven also played taserface in Guardians 2

The first episode doesn't really do the show justice. I hope you will continue watching, and yeah it is best when Binged. Knowing you I think you will Really LOVE Eleven once things get going. There are some pretty awesome scenes.

This show's super popular with people in their 30s (like me). Right off the bat it hits this nostalgia-release-the-endorphins button. Just seeing it, I was remembering the ambiance of my very early childhood, which I had mostly forgotten. Plus I like the characters, they're not too tropey, and the kid actors are so sweet (◠﹏◠✿) It channels vibes like E.T., the Goonies, etc. That lands with the 30s crowd. Maybe in a couple years a show will come out that will land with 90s kids super close to happy childhood home, one that vibes something like Shrek. Y'all always seem to be talking about Shrek, attributing timeless songs to Shrek (･へ･)

It premiered on my birthday, and I hadn't seen a single trailer. All I saw was the poster Netflix displayed and the look of it immediately made me think of Firestarter, one of my favorite Stephen King books and movie adaptations from the 80s. So I gave it a look on day one and had binged it before the weekend was over.

I had no interest in "Stranger Things" until I learned that it was Grace VanderWaals favorite show. Grace won "America's Got Talent" a couple of years ago as a twelve year old singer/songwriter. And I became a huge fan. So I tried "Stranger Things". It took awhile to get into it. two or three episodes and thru-out there are cringe-worthy moments. But I ended up binge watching all 3 seasons of it and was sorry when I came to the end and now have to wait for another season to appear. It is a good program for reactions. I hope at some point you choose it to react to the whole series. If you do, I will be watching with you.

It's a really great show, though it takes 2-3 episodes to really get its teeth into you. I personally find that most shows need at least 3 episodes to get going.Not only is it a show that I think you may enjoy, its also very popular and therefore would be great for attracting new patrons and Youtube subscribers, especially with Buffyverse nearing its end

I was hooked right away. The 80's theme, the music. Winona Ryder, sci-fi, slightly scary. I was hooked from the second Will disappeared.

I definitely was not hooked from the first episode. My reaction was pretty much yours. "Eh, it was okay, don't really get what the big deal is". Probably wasn't until around the 4th episode that I could say I was hooked.
