NBC sure did this show dirty. The series got great reviews but there was executive meddling from NBC. For example, in the comics, Constantine is bisexual and a heavy smoker, but the network nixed those certain parts of his character. Add in a few episodes aired out of order, a lack of marketing which resulted in low ratings, the fact that they aired the show on a bad timeslot and how they halted production just when the series really started to get going and then they waited half a year before deciding to cancel it before it could finish the season. This probably wouldn't have happened if the show aired on the CW along with the other arrowverse shows.

I never saw this show when it was on NBC. I only know of Constantine from his appearance on other shows, namely the CW ones. On those, they did keep the bisexual and heavy smoker aspect of his nature. In fact, they had a little "fun" with it. Thank you for the information.
