While I hate the torture they put us through to get to this point, I gotta say, I kind of love the fact that Elena and Stefan basically had a love spell on them, drawing them together from the moment they met, and Elena still fell in love with Damon. Basically, her feelings for Damon are stronger than magic. And while I do believe that Elena was in love with Stefan at one time, it makes me wonder if she would have fallen in love with him without the Traveler's spell.

So to summarize this episode: When Liv didn't want Matt and Tyler involved, she was absolutely, 100% right

Theyr not trying to put Stelaina back together. What that was was a fairwell to their relationship. It was a spell to deepen Delaina issues even more. This, as well as The Originals and that new spin off is based off pure drama. Without the introduction on NEW drama it would not be TVD. Rollercoaster emotions all over the place... Rollercoaster relationships all over the place... Like Beverley Hills 90210, or the later years, 90210. Same concept. Poin is no Stelaina.

This literally had nothing to do with Stelena. In fact, if anything it's the exact opposite because the point of the episode was revealing the entire Stelena prophesy was a Traveler ploy the entire time. Elena even tells Damon they were real at the end and she even says the universe doesn't get to tell her what to do. This episode was basically the farewell to that storyline that started seasons ago. You also have to realize the primary focus of the show is the triangle. Just because Delena finally happened doesn't mean there won't be occasional Stelena scenes, moments and episodes. I'm a huge Delena fan and I want them together, but you have to remember we got Delena scenes and moments all the time when Stelena was official. We have to endure Stelena once in a while like they had to endue Delena for us.

The defense of the ship baiting is annoying really, yes, they did do Delena scenes early in other seasons as well, but it was part of a natural progression of them getting closer in each season that took place in the show. Of course season 3 being the one that got heavier with stuff in getting even closer. Yet, it wasn't over the top stuff like we have seen in this season with Stelena, the Amnesia Storyline, the Destiny Stuff, then this. This stuff taking place right after the break up caused by Katherine, then we see Damon and Elena break up last episode, then they do this again with Stelena fans perhaps trying to get their hopes up again. Oh Damon and Elena broke up, now they are dreaming about each other again, it's the destiny thing they talked about at the start of this season. This is what baiting is pure and simple. I think there is a reason why others have commented about this being there least favorite season, and I think it probably comes from fans of both ships perhaps. They take too much advantage of the Triangle at times, instead of letting it die. Conversely, I do understand the underlying story principles being told with in all of this, correction of the Original Sin that Katsiea made with immortality spell, her being cheated by Silas, and her last words about True Love and the Universe. Hence Elena and Damon beating the odds with all the odds stacked against them as it were, even some magic spell, but I will call a spade a spade, there was just too much use of the Triangle for fan service of the first ship it felt like in this entire season. I still think they just went too hard and heavy with some of it that it annoyed fans overall.

I'm a huge Delena fan but anyone with brain cells should be able to see that there is no Selena baiting. Like others have said, its the opposite. Both Elena and Stefan have said MANY times that they aren't in love anymore. The whole Traveler prophecy had nothing g to do with Selena at all. It had to do with Damon, who through 5 seasons had had crippling self hate, believing that he doesn't deserve happiness, and being insanely insecure about Elena's feelings for him, after being told by the two women that he's loved, that they love Stefan and that it will always be Stefan, for the better part of 170+ years, so obviously he would be insecure about that and the entire prophecy storyline was meant to showcase that, and it did, beautifully. Maybe the writing for this show is too complex for some, but as a writer myself, I find it insanely good in those moments, at least where Damon is concerned (there are plenty of other writing mistakes that boggle my mind, like how Matt remembers the Other Side with no real explanation)
