WB

One of the reasons I like this episode is because Simon is kinda boring, but is supposed to be smart. This is the first episode you can really see him use it. Also, that part that wash threw in the junkyard was the one they needed on the last episode.

I think Mal would have killed him because of the betrayal, but when Jayne asked him not to tell the rest of the crew what he did when he thought he was going to die, it let Mal know that Jayne wasn't just about himself. That he cared what the rest thought of him so deserved a second chance. One of my favrite scenes.

Those hand of blue guys are the worst.

I missed this show. Love River, 'he looks better in red.'

Mal and Jayne from the pilot: "Why didn't you turn on me, Jayne?" "Money wasn't good enough." "What happens when it is?" "Weelllll... that'll be an interesting day." "Imagine it will."

This is my favorite episode of the show. It’s so good. Great character moments, great world building, funny at times, scary, and intense. It’s got everything.

He absolutely was going to kill him. Jayne bought himself a reprieve by showing shame. But that wasn't a bluff.

You know, I think Mal *was* going to kill him, up until Jeyne said "don't tell them what I did". Because I think that showed Mal Jeyne did feel ashamed of what he'd done.

It's going to be so bittersweet when you nail the opening song in the last epidsode...

I like the scene in the holding cell showing the contrast of brains versus brawn. Jayne has a long drawn-out battle with his guard while Simon simply kneels on the windpipe (i'm guessing) of his guard until the guard loses consciousness.

I like the way Simon explains the plan to River, using simple language. When he asks if she understands, she uses big words to say she understands. Usually it's the other way around.

Nice try with your singing Shan. The verses are the hardest part to memorize, aren't they?

Ron Fehr

Shan. I think what Simon meant by "it's time to wake up", was a way of saying "it's time to start getting better".

This is such a good episode! Also something about mal in that lame hat really does it for me.

This was one of the things they were able to accomplish in Firefly's short run. They were able to pay off that convo from the pilot.
