Selling your soul for a car is slightly less stupid than stealing a vampire baby - just sayin

Brendan O'Connor

To be fair, Gunn's truck helped him and his gang stay alive for about 5 years, and killed plenty of vamps with the stake launcher. And like the line in Gangster's Paradise (loved the dance btw) "I take a look at my life, and realize there's nothing left." If he thought he had nothing left to lose, then making the deal seemed like a good idea at the time, but we all know those kinds of deals never end well.

I don’t remember Gunn/Fred annoying me so much when I watched it the first time!

Cordelia is supposed to be 20 years old, but with that haircut Charisma looks nearly 40.

Gunn and Fred are so cute <3

Gunn said it in the episode...he sold his soul/future because he didn't think he had one. He was living on the street at the time fighting demons. The truck was his shelter and his wheels, not to mention he had it all rigged out (see season 2) to help kill vamps so it was a weapon for protection too. Selling his soul for the truck when he didn't even think he'd survive the year isn't really that stupid in hindsight. At least not as stupid as taking Angel's son based on a phony prophecy without telling anyone :)

Yeah I think Gunn is the worst written character on the show (generally what happens when a bunch of upper middle class white dudes write someone who's supposed to be a guy from compton) but his story line in this ep is solid. He needed a truck and didn't have any money and heard he could sell his soul/future for it. it makes sense fr the character as someone who's main characteristic is his impulsiveness. You should really lay off him for the truck thing.

After the one-two punch you've just been through, I wouldn't feel like singing either. Don't you fret. We understand.

To be fair... As dumb as it may seem to sell your soul for a truck... Gunn didn't think he would even survive the whole 7 yrs. That truck helped him and his group to safety as well as innocent ppl in Los Angeles.

Becky Howell

Yeah I have to agree with the other comments, I can see why he would sell his soul for his truck. Somethings like that can change your life in a huge way.

I mean everyone else plays the Amish Paradise by Weird Al in their heads right?

Bisibia

"Who sells their soul!?"... Would you like me to recite the cast of Supernatural? lol

Alexis Cardarella

I’ll be honest, i thought it was soooo fucking dumb that Gunn sold his sole FOR HIS TRUCK. It’s not the former part that surprises, me, but the latter. There’s a number of things he could have traded for his soul for the benefit of protection/fighting vampires.. I think there’s many people on here who probably thought the same thing during their initial watch.

I forgot how in all of fiction there is no manic pixie dream girl as appealing as Groo ❣️

I find this episode so be quite annoying and out of place... i really dont care about Gunn at all lol, never have and never will. He just doesnt ever seem to know who he is, you know? I think his character just isnt written as well as the others... I always either wanna smack him, or a tolerate him lol. Shoulda just let them collect his soul hahaha
