I know I'm super late but I actually thought that Glory being a Slayer was a great theory. Slayers do have super healing abilities. If they were not constantly throwing themselves in danger who knows how long they would live for. I know that they age so they're not Immortal but they must live a lot longer than a human would.

Chris Peacock

You wrote Blood Lines by mistake. Not a big deal though.

Chris Peacock

What are you talking about? Dawn said Ben left before Glory got there. That's exactly what happened.

Chaotic Cam

"They turned her into glitter?" I choked, lmao. Great reaction as always! I absolutely love this episode. Well, and the next one. And the next one. From here on out it's just amazing episode after amazing episode really.

I don¨'t get it. Are you implying there may be a connection between Ben and Glory?

Hannah Grangaard Gaudesen

THE BOOK OF TARDIS!! Sorry whovian here.. I'll go back to the video now.. XD

Holi117

“Hold the fuck!” 😂😂 best line ever! Perfect reaction lol

Holi117

It really is... from this point on s5 is hust so incredible in my opinion...

UTU49

I believe it was the Book of TarNis. But full marks for your whovianness. u du u.

RIP the timeline where Uber Buffy and Faith's little sister teamed up against Glory the immortal slayer.

Many Buffy eps use supernatural elements as part of an analogy for real-life situations - this ep seems to me to be the story of a teenager finding out she is adopted, the fallout from that for all concerned, and the re-establishment of the notion of family regardless.

UTU49

Yeah, the adoption analogy works well. More generally I think Dawn's situation can represent a child or teenager's worst fear... that there is something fundamentally "wrong" with them. Adoption is a prime example. Others could be... having a disease... finding out your "father" is NOT your biological father... realizing that you are gay or other wise gender non-normative... finding out that your parents were not married, so someone could accurately describe you as a bastard -- as assholish as that would be... etc.

On my first viewing of season 5 I knew I liked Glory but it was this episode that cemented her as my favorite big bad. I love how she can go from quirky to crazy in an instant. Clare Kramer does such an amazing job pulling off these mood swings.

Timotey Kuhn

So cute the way you tried desperately to hold onto your "Glory is a Slayer" theory , clawing at it as it all slid through your fingers, until you eventually gave in...... ;)

UTU49

I'm quite sure that she meant to say, "What the phone?!"

Holi117

Think its a combo of “hold the phone” ad “wtf” lol, i still love it haha

Although...if there were vampires in Glory's hell dimension, and she killed them...she'd be a vampire slayer.

HuntingSwan

I love this episode. Dawn finding out she's the key is really strong metaphor for being adopted. Joyce even says 'we wanted to wait until you were older to tell you'. And then with Dawn lashing out and saying 'you're not my mother'. I love the metaphors in this show!

Bria Bey

I loved Spike in this episode for telling Buffy off for how she loves to blame and attack him for things that aren't his fault. I also loved how Spike was watching over Dawn so she wouldn't be hurt by anything.

Chris Peacock

I don’t disagree, but the “right” thing to do would have been to immediately escort her home. It’s not really his problem though so he certainly didn’t do anything wrong.

Andrew Pulrang

A great episode and a great reaction. I think the issue with not remembering the Ben-to-Glory transition is one of the things people have tended to dislike about this season and about the Dawn character. A little too much getting out of minor plot problems by invoking more magic. I'm fine with it, and I think they handle it pretty well, but I can see why a viewer might be calling a little BS on that particular detail.

its okay shan really i dont think anyone was expecting that glory would of turned out to be a god. If Oz was on the show still he would of been thinking the same thing when glory showed up with one of his memorable quotes "im gonna go out on a limb and say theirs a new slayer in town"

Anonymous

I'm never saying "Hold the phone" again. From now on it's "Hold the fu%K" or nothing.
