It's pretty amazing how many shows Amy Adams popped up in around this time just before becoming famous. This, That '70s Show, Charmed, Smallville, The West Wing, King of the Hill. She was even on The Office a few months before she got her first Oscar nomination.

To address your face at the Kind of like Cordelia comment from Buffy, remember that Buffy doesn't know the new improved Cordelia so she was actually pretty spot on.

I never understood why Amy Adams wasn't really mad at the end. If I was a woman in that family and found out they had been lied to for years... I wouldn't be at all happy about it :(

Sandy is not just the same actress reused. It's the same character. Vamp Willow is her sire. I know the show didn't have Sandy drink any of Vamp Willow's blood (I guess it was off screen), but she did. Just go with it. So in a way, Willow is a mommy... kinda... not really.

They don't show them kissing because of network restrictions in the early 2000s.

Great reaction! you don't have to apologize for crying during that scooby gang family scene with Tara, I teared up with you. Also Spike was hilarious, low-key he couldn't let anything bad happen to Buffy haha

Not really, since there's lots of network shows from this era with episodes where women kiss (like Friends, Ally McBeal or Party of Five) . It's just that Joss and the writers didn't want to do an episode that'd be heavily marketed as the one where "THE GIRLS MAKE OUT!"

She was most likely bitter and subconsciously aware of the lie, but too afraid to confront the truth, rather preferring to work for the men of the family and gain a sort of hierarchical superiority over the women. If she admitted to herself that Tara was right, she would have to admit that she was the weakest of the two. Nobody is capable of that, at least not easily.

I'm commenting here late I know, but I wanted to say thanks for reviewing this episode, and please don't apologize for tearing up. This one has special significance for me since I went through pretty much exactly what Tara does in this episode (came out as a lesbian, parents told me I was a demon, for real), so I'm always a mess watching this one. <3
