The XBOX gamepad mode no longer spins you right round, baby, right round.

This fix should make Minecraft & MadOut2 fully playable in XBOX gamepad mode.

Newcomers: Please refer to the Beta #1 post for a visual installation guide or follow the included README.txt in the SPFlash package to-the-letter.

Existing users: Reboot into the recovery and install the TWRP package as usual to upgrade.

Changelog

  • Fixed the XBOX gamepad mode button & axis mapping

Known issues

  • Audio plays through the device speakers / wired headphones while connected via HDMI
  • Security patch always shows as March 2019 (it's a side-effect of the CTS fingerprint fix required for Netflix)

I never understood the controller options really. I see them in the emulators that I use. When I set up controls for an emulator I just seen to stumble about until something works and I leave it alone.

These are mostly just there to shut up apps that don't allow you to remap buttons yourself. With XBOX & PS4 gamepads being the most widespread out there it makes sense to simulate those two. A future update might go and update the XBOX one to the latest iteration of the XBOX One gamepad. This should in theory help with XCloud support, but given I have no subscription I can't really test that.

I'm running XD Plus-CleanRom-V2.1.1.0. When I try to install this build via TWRP I get this error: E3004: This package is for device: xdplus, XDPLUS; this device is gpd_en. Help? :D

blackseraph

First time users need to use SPFlash. The TWRP builds can only be installed if you are already on Oreo.

Is it a dead or alive reference ? lmao

for some reason, I can't get no audio out form the HDMI to my capture card anymore. read before installing thanks for the work.

My GPD just arrived. I Will test this OS on it.

Man, i can't install the mediatek drivers on Windows 8.1. I disable driver signature option, but i can't manage to install It.

Anonymous

Is there any way to flash It without spflash? I need help.

Anonymous

I gonna cancel membership. I did everything and now my New GPD stuck on a endless lineage logo looping.

blackseraph

I'm sad to see you go but I wish you the best non the less. As for the boot loop issue, you most likely tried to install Google apps without wiping the data partition afterwards.

I must try Again. Please, may you tell me what i need to do about the TWRP thing.

Sorry about my despair, but i just got my New GPD and i am having headache with It.

blackseraph

I'll gladly help you but I physically can't right now. I'm at my dayjob. If you can wait until the weekend for a small 1:1 support session then we could try and figure your problem out together.

Anonymous

Thank you. And Sorry Again.

Anonymous

I Will flash the ROM Again and i Will wait till weekend to flash gapps. I gonna wait your instructions.

I am at work now. I am far from my GPD and PC.

Is there a way to move apps to the sd card, or make the sd card internal?

blackseraph

Just go into the storage menu while you have a MicroSD card inserted and select that you wish to use it as internal storage.

When I try to extract using 7zip, it says can not open file, I did this before with beta #1, but now both are giving me this msg, must be my computer I guess....

Anonymous

Also says can not read header of this archive. Maybe data error

blackseraph

Your download might have been corrupted. Also make sure you right click the first part of the multi file archive when you extract it.

is this the final version?

Anonymous

Followed the (very clear!) instructions and everything is working well. Thanks so much!

I'm getting a black screen when I plug in an HDMI cable. I've tried a few different cables and my TV and my monitor and both just get a black screen.

blackseraph

HDMI output heavily depends on the monitor (and cable) in question. The XD+ is somewhat picky with HDMI extensions like HDCP.

Hi I am going to install lineage 15.1 and try but I have noticed in the instruction it has lineage recovery and I have TWRP and my NVRam is backed up with that how do get TWRP recovery on instead

Anonymous

The recovery that is installed when you do a spflash in instructions it says to send the playstore zip file via ADB so I assumed it had the lineage recovery as I had seen that before on my RP2 but I managed to install lineage os Android 10 now by not ticking the recovery box before doing a splash then going into TWRP and recovering my NVRam and installing Google apps and the special Magisk and it runs like a dream mate you are a star and well worth my 8 quid a month thanks

blackseraph

I'm glad it all worked out for you. Should you run into any other roadblocks just give me a call.

Thanks for the hard works! I'm using this build currently but while its works just great, some oddities i found. I have been wanting to write this for a long time but time just ain't that great for me. first, during charging while off, the screen keep turn up and showing empty battery and no charging animation. the screen does not turn off and it slowing down charging i presume at least a little. second, the GPD XD+ body keep heating up while in idle or during charging. it seem idle apps that not fully close use up the CPU or something like that. i install temp monitor. when idling and charging battery, it register 73celcius highest. its really hot. third, something keep turning up the screen. I'm not sure if this due to my hardware broken like button or something, or something that keep waking up the display. fourth, ABXY, L2/3, R2/4 can wake up screen. kinda irritating when carrying around. my subscription ending this month so i maybe not able to respond again but in the future i will come back when i'm able to. thanks again for the hard works!

Thanks for the bug report! I'll take a look at all of these after the 9.0 legacy hash algorithm port.
