GPD XD+ CleanROM 2.0.1.2 Bugfix! (Patreon)

This release addresses an issue where pressing one of the shoulder-buttons would wake the GPD XD+ from sleep, even if the lid was closed.

This would most commonly happen while having the unit inside a pocket, or if it bumped into something inside a backpack (or the likes).

Thanks go to foxsevent for bringing this issue to my attention.

Works like a charm, it can still be woken by a button press when the lid is open but not when it's closed. Big thanks.

I used the TWRP method, put the zip file on the SD card, enter TWRP by holding the power button and selecting reboot to recovery select install, select the zip file and install.

How about if I merged a 128gb SD card with the internal storage to get 1 big chunk?

You could do that, but here's a few things. 1.You won't be able to remove that SD card from your GPD, it will be unusable on any other devices until you format it. 2.It won't be one big chunk, you will still have two separate storage, but now most games/apps will be installed onto the SD card, not all but most. 3. If you're gonna do this make sure to get a very fast SD card, any cheap card won't do as they're slow and will lag your games/apps. It has to be at leas a A2 or better card, with read speed over 150mbs and writes over 70mb/s at least.

Indeed that's why I asked it isnt readable in TWRP. I've been running my GPD this way for months. It's a high end card I use never had any issues! Apart from not being able to read it before boot. So trying to figure out a way I can update it now without losing all my stuff again? Gets tiring having to keep setting it up from fresh when I just got it the way I like it lol. Last time I flashed it was from 1.0.x.x so used my laptop and obviously did loose all my settings but seeing as you said its dirty flushable now, what options should I untick or which general option in the drop down box?

There's many ways you can update without losing data. You could put the TWRP update on a USB stick and flash it via TWRP, or pick Download mode in SPFlash and untick all partitions except system and boot.

Thanks mate much appreciated. I usually use SPFlash so I'll go with that again, just couldnt remember which options to go with so glad you could clarify! Will get it flashed tonight.

Thanks for the update! Was annoying finding my system turned on even when I wasn't using it, was almost going to run checks to see if there's any wakelocks I wasn't aware of, haha

Hi, I just finished the procedure to install CleanROM 2.0.1.2, and Magisk. Also cleared data in Google Play Store. However, I found apps like Google Play Store & Settings not responding very frequently. Also, running app Rootcheck reported device not rooted. Actually repeated the procedure once more but still the same. Anything I can check/do? Thanks!

Did you let the system do a clean first boot before you installed Magisk? (If this is your first CleanROM install.) Also, did you check that Magisk works in the first place?

i tried installing through TWRP, and I am getting an error saying This package is for "gpd_en" devices; this is a "xds". I know i hsve a GPD XD Plus, so I'd appreciate help!

You are using an old outdated TWRP build. Please flash the updated recovery.img first. PsyOps mentions this step in his guide explicitly.

Hi, I've not been using my XD+ for a while and was still on an old Cleanrom version from a few months ago. I just updated to this latest version using SPF but I don't have root. Did I miss something / do something wrong?

You need to install Magisk manually after flashing the ROM, then go into the app settings and clear data for the Google Play Store app.

A question, is it possible to update xd+ to a never version of Android? If not 8 or 9 than at least the same generation like 7. 1.2? Also does xd+ android 7.0 run in 64bit mode or 32? Just curious about the technical aspects.

Yes and yes. One step at a time though. I still have a good 10 or so points on my list I want to address before that. (Like the regulatory domain limitations on the WiFi chip.)

2 quick questions - am i able to select the lower clock speed? the change log indicates the 2 approaches were merged. and - silly question - how do i set the wallpaper back to the one from clean1 - the dark grey with black game icons - i have the wallpaper, but when setting it via the launcher, or via settings, it always zooms in and goes landscape.

The lower clock speed maximum will become a toggle-able feature in one of the next revisions. Currently on the boiler plate is a customizable back button buffer timespan setting to help users with bad back buttons avoid the double-triggering behavior.

Hi, I just got an XD Plus (I think it's an older revision), just flashed to this particular build from stock. I'm having a problem with the audio, I guess it's a known bug, where the speakers and headphones are swapped. Is there anything I can do to remedy this? Edit: whoops, nevermind, found your fix in the settings. Great stuff!

You have a newer revision model (aka. rev2 or vr) and need to toggle the headphone jack polarity option to reversed to fix the difference in the irq configuration. But you already figured that out by yourself.

Of course. After flashing just delete the appropriate folders in /system/app via TWRP.

It's part of a carrying case I've gotten for my GPD Win 2. The sleeve you are seeing here came with it, but won't fit the Win 2.
