Gojo killed Geto in the movie. He was completely dead. He however didn’t have anybody dispose of his body afterwards due to emotional conflicts. So the brain you see controlling Geto took control of Getos body after he was dead and no one disposed of his body. The Geto that you’ve seen since season 1 and up to currently has not been the same Geto you saw in the movie. His body has been inhabited by that being since the first time you saw him hence why there was never an explanation until now to his stitches across his forehead that weren’t there in the movie yet have been there since his first appearance in season 1

This also explains the looming contradiction between the ideals of the Geto we see in the movie and that of the Geto we see in season 1 and 2. As Geto in movies main goal was to get rid of cures spirits completely yet in “Getos” first appearance in season 1 he’s seen working with cursed spirits directly instead of his group he was with from the attack on the school in the movie.
