We heard back from SAG-AFTRA! (Patreon)

• Paused videos will resume posting starting this Sunday, August 13th. There may be some gaps as we continue working to catch up, but we will fill those gaps as soon as we are able.

• We will not be reacting to trailers or other promotional material during the strike.

• The pickup shows that were recently added during the pause will continue to release.

This means the rest of this summer will be absolutely STACKED with content.

SAG-AFTRA did not give any specific recommendation, but did reiterate that posting “social content that consists of genuine review or critique” is allowed within their guidelines.

After much consideration and research, the crew have decided that the reaction/discussion videos we put out do classify as “a genuine review or critique” and have informed SAG-AFTRA of our decision. We want to support SAG-AFTRA as much as we can, and we feel that continuing to call out the strike and their efforts on our posted content is the best way for us to get their message out and provide support.

Our content consists of genuine, honest reviews and both positive and negative opinions. We are not paid by any studio to cover their media. When we are approached by studios and given early access to something, it is always under their media/press umbrella as opposed to their influencer umbrella – and we are never under any kind of obligation to limit our critique, or even to cover the show at all. Blind Wave takes pride in being as genuine as possible in our videos.

What will be affected during the strike are trailer reactions as we feel teasers and trailers fall squarely under promoting struck content. If SAG-AFTRA does call for a general boycott of struck content and streaming platforms we may reinstate a pause and begin offering alternate content.

The writers and the actors of SAG-AFTRA are a big reason our channel exists. Without their work, the shows and movies we react to would not exist. We believe their members should be treated fairly, and we want to continue to help in whatever way we can.
