Is this the best drama for a live action Superman? If no, what is?

This is the best drama for Superman since it’s something out of his control, and we get to see him as a family man. If Lois dies, he’s not the only one who loses. His kids do too

I love it and it’s hard to write for Superman since he’s so powerful even with his many weaknesses people still complain about him being boring he has some pretty interesting villains on his side jsut like Batman

I love Tyler's portrayal of Superman. Especially when he was hearing the cancer patient stories. You can just see Superman listening to them. Even though he's not in the suit. He just Embraces the character so much. It's very hard to act and write for Superman and I feel this show does the best for both in my opinion

I honestly think this show, along with Daredevil, contain some of the most emotionally mature storylines in any comic book media period.

Bretton B

Tyler/the writers are honestly the only people who have made me enjoy the character of Superman.

While I always love good emotional scenes that help the viewers in real life. When the main character is someone like Superman, I would prefer something bigger in scale, like the morality of godlike beings, big decisions like the sacrificing of few for the greater good, nature vs nurture with aliens and monsters. Things that we don't normally see in shows.

very specific with the "drama". my favorite superman shows are lois and clark and smallville. nothing compares. this is show is BORING which is why i dropped it after season 1

SonOfDarkHelmet

I'm watching The Flash only because I want to finish it. I'm watching Sup&Lois because I actually enjoy it and the writing and this family. Side note, if you thought the writing for Crisis of Infinite Earths was meta, it's bypassed by the writing they gave Sophie in this episode. I loved that she literally said everything many of us thought.

I haven’t seen your reaction yet, so if you mean the cancer specifically…There will always be bigger things. Things he can hit, lift, freeze, burn, or outrun. And they’ll always be able to go bigger and bigger, make him go farther and farther. This…is not one of those things. He can’t do anything to this that he normally can to the bad guys….so yes. This is the best kind of thing they could do for a story about him, I think.

The relationship between Lois and Clark is so mature and understanding even when there is a disagreement or some sort of dilemma. It's refreshing.

Logan Wright

When I go back to rewatch this show after it finishes which hopefully won’t be for a while, season 3 is gonna be so painful all over again and I’m here for it!

Logan Wright

This show is phenomenal everything about it is phenomenal

This show tortures me emotionally but in a good way I cry watching the show and then I watch reactions and I cry all over again but it’s worth every second!

Probably, but smallville will always be number 1 in my heart

Yeah, Superman is, at his core, just a guy who grew up in Kansas. I believe all Superman stories should never lose focus of the little guy, the average Joe, otherwise it can separate Superman as a character from his humanity. I think it's best to have very human drama, and it's one of the things Superman and Lois does best in my opinion.

Obsidian

Absolutely the "Thanks, my Mom made it for me" in the first episode has more heart & humanity than all of Cavill Supe's "burdened god" appearances put together (not that it was Cavill's fault, he could've been great with good scripts)

I enjoy Superman and Lois but I have to vote no. Smallville for me is THE definitive Superman TV show. One of the first tv shows that ever got me so invested. If anything the reason I’m so invested in This show is Because of Smallville

Reece Hart

Even though I think I'll look back and probably rate this and Smallvile pretty much equal I am still going to say yes to the poll. The only reason I am saying this edges out Smallville is Smallville was a show about Clark and not really a Superman show with maybe the exception of the last 2 seasons.

Definitely. I mean, I liked Man of Steel and Cavill's Superman, but I feel like if they had done a little better with his adaptation, and we had some time to develop more of a connection to that character over the years, I'd say it might even tie with this. But otherwise, in my eyes, I can't see any of the other live-action Supermen coming relatively close to Superman and Lois. But I'll always hold on to Smallville.

It makes me sad to think if we had good live action superman stories like this people wouldn’t think superman is a boring character and maybe we wouldn’t have so many evil superman clones

Smallville will always be #1

The best drama in any live action Superman is by far and without a doubt stretching Clark and Lana through 8 and a half seasons. ALWAYS HOLD ONTO SMALLVILLE!!!!

Yes. Definitely. Absolutely.

Superman: The Movie will always be the top for me, but S&L is an extremely close 2nd.

"Superman and Lois" explores things that have never been shown in a live action Superman show or movie. The major plot points from other Superman properties were answered in the series from the very beginning and we finally get to see Superman in his prime as a father, husband, and the greatest superhero on the planet. It's my favorite live action portrayal of the Superman story.

While I think S&L is definitely the best show, I'm not sure if it's my favorite. Smallville has a certain charm to it that is hard to beat but damn is this close. I'm normally not a huge Superman fan as I've always preferred Batman, Flash, Nightwing and many other heroes, but these two shows made me realize that while I like Superman, I love Clark Kent more.

Oh for sure. Too many other shows would be pushy "sexy love triangles" and damsel in distress storylines for Lois, it feels right for a show about both of them to have them fight their battles with such solidarity. Sometimes the boys get a little cringey, but they're teens! Its to be expected.

Logan Wright

It’s emotional torture but in a good way!
