Animation: Ben 10, Assassination classroom, Naruto, cyberpunk, Batman: TAS Live action: Dark, Sandman, (b99/community) Let me first say Blindwaves been overall probably the best Patreon channels. I’m asking a genuine question here. I’ve been a Patreon since avatar TLA. But it really feels like as a Patreon member every month we get less and less content. I get tech & health issues happen but we used to have one animation & one live show reaction daily. & now it feels like we’re lucky to get one & being drip fed content. Or maybe an idea would be lower the $15 tier back to $10? Bc asking $15 a month is basically saying you value blindwaves Patreon subscription the same as an HBO max subscription prices. Sidenote: what happened to same day movie releases being bonus same day YouTube reactions? With most recent mcu movies u dropped it as soon as it came on Disney + (like u did with eternals, Shang-chi, multiverse of madness) to ur YT channel once it’s out of theaters but now with black panther 2 u block the YT subs another month for seeing it behind early access after we already waited 2 months for ur reaction? That just seems not cool. Idc because I’m subbed so I got to watch it but I completely understood all the people in the comments that are still wondering where that black panther 2 reaction is

Anonymous

this is a very well-written post. I am starting to feel it too membership for top tier in Australia is 25 per month. its only a recent thing normally its value for money.

GrayStark

Here before people get pissed at you for writing a well written inquiry on the state of the patreon services. I personally agree, however it’s hard to get too upset when you look at other patreons (we all know who I’m talking about). And there you barely even get consistency. But I can’t wait to read all of the comments angry at you for expressing your concerns, should be entertaining.

Fine, I'll be the angry comment y'all are waiting for. They react to ~14 shows a week, plus their other videos and streams. You're not being "drip fed" content, you just don't like most of that content and are whining about it for some reason instead of dropping tiers/unsubbing until the Patreon rewards for that content are worth it to you.

Username

@CommanderL And I'd hardly call a comment that constantly uses "u" instead of "you" well written, but here we are.

Username

@Ryan I wouldn't say a $15 Blind Wave subscription is worth the same as a HBO Max subscription. That's why I don't have a $15 Blind Wave subscription. The people who do have it clearly do feel like it's worth the same, which is why they have it. This isn't complicated. They spell out exactly what each tier gets you and what shows they'll be reacting to each month. If the $15 isn't worth it to you then don't pay for it. All this stuff is free on YouTube eventually, anyway.

GrayStark

Man, if people keep gatekeeping constructive criticism and calling it whining. How is blind wave supposed to get any feedback on their current business model? And it IS constructive, whether it hurt your feelings or not.

Anonymous

I used to have an HBO Max subscription but I hardly ever watched anything on there whereas I watch Blindwave content daily. So to me Blindwave is more deserving of that money which is why I still subscribe to Blindwave but not to HBO Max. That said it is up to you if you think you are getting your moneys worth. If not then there are other options.

Username

K, here's my constructive criticism of you guys, then. Accusing Blind Wave of "dripfeeding" their content when they release 15 free reactions a week is just silly. Just say you don't think that the $15 Patreon rewards for that content are worth it. Wanting them to lower the cost of a completely optional tier where they say exactly what it gives you just because you personally don't think it's worth it comes off as super entitled and like you're just trying to save a couple bucks rather than help earn them more subscribers in the long run. Trying to tell Blind Wave that you don't think that their Patreon is worth it in an unrelated comment section rather than by actually unsubscribing/dropping tiers makes it seem like you still do think it's worth it, and you're just complaining for the sake of complaining. Oh, and don't forget that this is just constructive criticism.

Mister_Momus

Bad Batch, My Hero Academia The Last of Us, The Flash, Wednesday (I know they finished recording but it’s still being released), and the Mandalorian s3 starts airing next week. Hey look. If you don’t stop counting partway through you’re pretty much at your 7 animated and 7 live action. They didn’t use to do nearly daily twitch streaming and podcasts. They didn’t use to do 5 episodes at the start. They haven’t always done the movie Fridays. They have only been recently working on side projects, Pokemality and Roll with the Punches. Maybe you feel like you’re being drip fed, maybe you don’t like as much of the shows they’re doing. In any case your criticism rings kind of hollow, their subscriber-ship has been flourishing so I hardly think they need it, and there has got to be a better place for giving them constructive feedback either on their Discord or directly if you really feel that strongly about it - but I think they’ll disagree on how much content they feel like they’re putting out.

Youtube got 16 videos this week. For free. They're not suffering. What the actual heck are you even talking about?

Username

K they get 16 videos a week. For free (after they watch a 15 second ad). They're not suffering. What the actual heck are you talking about you weirdo?

Deadpool

I’m just tryna voice my concerns that I know multiple people have. Thanks for the name calling

Anonymous

I mean, if you feel it's not worth it, then just unsubscribe or lower your sub tier, is simple as that. Is their channel, and for reaction content, you really need them to have a somewhat positive energy going in, meaning, they really want to do it, not just for complete a "Job". Otherwise you only gonna get low effort content, it's worse than “drip feeding” IMO. So, take it or leave it, I guess?

Cadmus Lochlan

Can we stop with the name calling? Regardless of what your stance is, name calling destroys your position in the discussion.

Erich Bomke

If anything Username. The amount of content that drops on Youtube for free, vs paying the highest subscription tier only further justifies Ryan's stance.

Erich Bomke

DustD, I think thats a terrible outlook on what Ryan is saying. He wrote a concise comment because he cares. He wants to have a civil discussion and voiced a feeling pretty well. Hitting him with the "take it or leave it" is an aggressive way to go. Constructive critism is the only way things ever get better since the dawn of man. Artists rely on it. Musicians are sculpted with it. And this is a job for them. The second they gave us day jobs to do this fully is the day they knowingly made it their job. They know this. 100%. If you asked Eric what his job was, he would say "content creation".

Nrock23

You are the weirdo for calling someone weird for voicing their opinion

Erich Bomke

I don't think constructive criticism is confined to a specific space. That kind of breaks the purpose of it. As long as you are well mannered and thorough with your wording, criticism should be allowed to be shared anywhere.

Chaos T

The free live stuff has increased over time because there have been a lot more important streaming shows and entire streaming services added since you became a member of Patreon. A lot of reaction channels don't put live shows like "The Last of Us" and "The Mandalorian" behind the Patreon pay wall because they're in direct competition with other reaction channels. With the TV Marvel stuff, reaction channels almost seem exhausted trying to get out all those shows as soon as possible. Your concerns are valid but it's probably the nature of reaction channels in 2023. I'm curious if this is a trend on other Patreon channels.

Username

No I called him a weirdo for the absolutely bizarre shit he said in that one now-deleted comment.

Deadpool

All I said was that they should be more consistent. Nobody knew the black panther 2 reaction was gonna be behind Patreon for another extra month

Nrock23

I’m not talking about you Username. Talking about Grayson

Anonymous

people just want to create hugboxes end of the day this is a business and any sensible business would rather customers write good natured complaints and concerns rather then just deciding to never use said business again

Shawn Brink

"Pretty much at" Meaning that it isn't. You even included a show that they are not even watching yet. You criticize someone for counting incorrectly then do the exact same thing. Their subs mean absolutely nothing. It is not relevant to Patreon. You could have sent them a message instead of creating your own comment. Since "There has to be a better place for giving constructive criticism." People are really hypocritical.

slipHAZARD

I just wanted to say I farted. That is all.

The Pebble

Spoken like a true snowflake of western society. Grow up, you're life is gonna be angry and difficult if that's all it takes to sway your heart.

Cadmus Lochlan

Thank you for not taking what I said and learning from it. I hope you have a good day.

Shawn Brink

What? People that feel the need to cuss at strangers are the true snowflakes. Ad hominems are a fallacy for a reason. People incapable of reason and logic need to fling shit and roll around in the mud because that is all that they are capable of. They can not win an argument based on merit. People that can't spell basic words for an example. Like mistaking your for you're. People that do not have the requisite vocabulary needed to express themselves. The op correctly identified that name calling hampers a persons ability to "sway someones heart" in a discussion. They are correct. It isn't an opinion it is a fact. You are attempting to appeal to realism on a micro level while ignoring it on the macro. Everything influences us on a daily basis whether we are conscious of it or not. You parrot internet buzzwords like snowflake which means that you have been swayed by words as well. Hmmm It is almost as if words sway all of our hearts all of the time.

Username

Nobody in this entire comment section ever cussed anyone out. One guy got called a weirdo for saying something really weird (so weird he felt the need to delete that comment immediately afterwards), but other than that there’s been no name calling. You are literally just making things up in attempt to do exactly what you were just criticizing: changing this argument to be about ad hominem attacks rather than merits.

Eric Demo

Even if you don't like the schedule, you can't say stuff like "No one knew Black Panther 2 was gonna take another month to hit Youtube." Like they're very clear with how they do the tiers. I had literally asked on Youtube the day Black Panther 2 came out, "When is the black panther reaction coming?" and i got a reply within an hour saying "It will hit Patreon tiers first!". After which i subbed to the Patreon and watched it and tons of the other content. Why would they post them the day of for free when certain people (literally me) will sub to their patreon to watch them? If it's not worth the money for you then cancel. Idk what else to say lol

Deadpool

It’s the inconsistency. No way home wasn’t behind Patreon. Nor was eternals Shang chi or black widow

Eric Demo

Thats fair. I'm not sure why that decision was made, Im curious if Quantumania will be the same way when it hits disney+

Jacob Lowe

You have been complaining about everything under the sun for months now here. The amount of content has stayed consistent for a long time. Just more shows are now live shows, that still benefit from patreon as they have full length for those shows. There is consistently 11-15 pieces of content they are dropping a week ALL of which in some way hit patreon to be benefits for patreon either at four weeks early or raw reactions. The only thing that has changed is live movie reactions which they just don't have time to react to day of and release day of and still keep up with their regular movie drops.
