Not sure if this counts as something that you don't want explained since it doesn't involve spoilers for the series, but I'd like to explain the whole reasoning for the color naming thing, at least from a real world perspective. If that's not cool, please don't read ahead. Basically, Monty Oum, the creator of RWBY, came up with several guidelines for the naming of characters and teams called the CNR or Color Naming Rule. The rules are that a name must be 1. a color, 2. sound like a color, 3. mean a color, or 4. make people think of a color. It's fairly straightforward. A name just has to in some way be associated with a color. For example, you have JNPR that either refers to Juniper berries like Aaron mentioned or Juniper bushes that, according to the wiki, are known to turn yellow. One of the more clever ones that I like is Lie Ren's name. On one hand, Ren means lotus, but his name is also meant to sound like Light Red AKA pink, one of his main colors, fitting the second rule.

It was Summer's grave that Ruby was visiting in the red trailer. Yang only found out that Summer wasn't her mother after she died 'It wasn't long till I found out why. Summer wasn't the first love he lost. She was the second. The first was my mom'. She didn't go looking for her mother while Summer was alive because she thought that Summer was her mother. I only say this because it was actually said in the episode sooooo... no spoilers :)
