At Last! Three Course Meals
Dine Out features three courses, but Sims will only ever order random things on their meal and dessert only comes up if you as the owner give the table a free dessert. In Dine Out Reloaded v4, Sims can order an appetizer, main course, and dessert course. You can choose which courses your guests will order in the options menu for the restaurant. This also works on NPC restaurants.
Here for the FUN - Bar & Entertainment Venue Patrons
Another major feature of this update are the new bar and entertainment venue patrons. These Sims want to have a good time on your lot, and will rate your restaurant purely on drink quality, value, and whether they had a good time or not. They also still care about decor, but maybe not as much as regular diners.
Hire a bartender and these Sims will order drinks that earn profit for your establishment. Of course, you can also play as bartender if you like! As the bartender gains levels, new recipes will unlock for them just as they do any other Sim, allowing your guests to purchase more expensive drinks. If you do NOT hire a bartender but have the Is Entertainment/Bar Venue setting turned on for this lot, these Sims will still spawn but will be primarily focused on entertainment.
This option will basically let you turn any kind of entertainment lot into a thriving business. Sims will come and use all fun object on the lot, and since these guys don't care about dining, you can basically do what you want. Make a cabana next to the beach or a bar with a bowling alley and turn off standard diners in the settings.
You also have the option of using Entry Fees with these types of guests. Set an entry fee in the restaurant options and they'll pay when visiting. Having a high entry fee requires Sims to have more fun to give you the max rating, so don't go too nuts with it!
Bigger Restaurants
Dine Out Reloaded v4 has some new features that will help you to greatly expand how many Sims you can serve at once. Up to 25 guests can be in the restaurant at a time, and you're now able to hire an additional chef or up to two extra waiters without spending any perk points. It doesn't make sense that you can't do this, as you're free to make as many poor business choices as you like! Honestly, whether these will help a restaurant depends heavily on its star rating, advertising level, and the table count. The extra waiters and chefs are very helpful if you choose to serve three course meals as the place will be booming most of the day.
MUCH Better Restaurant Settings
One of the most heavily requested features since Dine Out Reloaded got a settings menu is the ability to set them up on a per-restaurant basis. A burger joint, fast casual, and fine dining experience should all differ. Sims can now be seated by the host at the fine place, where they also eat politely, or walk themselves to their seat in a faster locale. It's all down to player preference and the feel of each restaurant. This works MUCH better than having a single options menu for all restaurants, which is what the mod has now.
Meal Base Value Option
Want to serve burgers? The mod now has an option to add a small amount of money to every sale in order to make things like burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers more profitable. I chose not to apply any kind of penalty for doing this, because right now dine out gameplay benefits heavily from players picking only the highest value recipes and I want you to be able to succeed with a burger joint if you so choose.
New Interaction: Take Order
Click your own Sim and you will now see a 'Take Order' interaction. This is a smart feature that scans all the dining groups and finds a group ready to have their order taken. This will help a lot in crowded restaurants. It will help players who lose track of who has had their order taken and who has not.
New Setting: Customer Count Multiplier
With the new Customer Count Multiplier setting you can take a restaurant from 50% to 250% more customers. Use this on low end machines to reduce max customers, or push the limits and go for 2.5x more customers. Offers 50%, 75%, 100% (default), 150%, 200%, and 250% settings.
Bugfixes and Improvements
- Guests are much more likely to sit when eating their meals.
- Guests are unable to sit SOMEWHERE ELSE when eating their meals.

- Guests who get stuck in conversation and not eating will leave group chat after 30 mins or so.
- Waitstaff must wait at least 30 Sim minutes before taking a newly created food or drink.
- Several rescue attempts exist to correct orders that go wrong in some way (ie waitstaff fail to deliver them, guests not in eat state with delivered food)
- A variety of stability improvements around orders in general and guest flow.
- It's now possible to queue up multiple 'take order' commands.
- The Apologize for Wait interaction will now immediately update a guest's star rating, if it is still possible.
