Hey guys. Another random poll based on some random ideas.

[Note - The poll is NOT related to the Wind Calamity fanfic.]

What are your thoughts on changing the power level of canon characters in fanfics?

So this is the thought I had. How would you feel if a character's power and fighting capability is drastically increased when compared to canon info? Of course, the increase in power must be justified and make sense. So the character will just use every possible means available in the story to power themselves up instead of being satisfied with their current power and hence be much stronger than their canon counterpart (well with some exceptions like not giving Sharingan and Hashirama's cells to everyone to prevent everyone from being extremely identical to one another).

Of course, on the flip side, some characters can be made weaker. To be honest, I couldn't think of a good reason to make someone weaker other than perhaps comedy and maybe just trolling, lol.

One example - Itachi has EMS by accessing Fugaku's eyes (assuming it also works between Parent-child) and isn't sick.

Anyways, let me know your thoughts on the above.

PS: As I said earlier, this poll has nothing to do with Wind Calamity.

I think if some characters become stronger, others should be weaker as kind of a balancing act otherwise it takes away some of the meaning from the strength of those oh are strong.

unless there's a reason stated it tends to throw me off since I'm expecting a certain power level. If it's AU or some other reason like it doesn't make sense in canon then good. For example, some fodder character being much stronger than shown since the mc caught him off guard, or the main villain being weaker because he couldn't get his power up. Also unless you can make the outside anime powers fit the world building or even just the world power system it just feels forced. Stuff like making a devil fruit give someone a kekkai genkai instead of instant full power set.
