!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!

"The monthly W.I.P. updates will contain spoilers for the upcoming Camp Mourning Wood game. View at your own risk."

Heeeey, we're back! For the second month in a row, lemme get you guys some work in progress pictures. A lot has been happening over the course of the last few weeks, so let's see what is currently being worked on and a sneak-peak at the development process of my older work.

1. Penelope

Introducing... Penelope! Convicted for Arson, this beautiful, but feisty blonde was sent to Camp Mourning Wood to help her overcome her fiery tendencies. This beautiful piece was drawn by banzu (twitter) right before the war.

Although paypal has been turned off in Russia, I'm hoping to bring her back once the world comes to its senses.

2. Camera

Oooh what's this? This very crude sketch is the beginning of some incredible art done by Octomush, who you might remember from Orange Trainer. The idea is to add many special high detail scenes in the game and this is going to be one of them.

This scene in particular will be part of the intro to the game and will be fully finished by the time the demo releases.

3. Ahsoka

From Camp Mourning Wood, I'd like to go back and show you some insight into how these type of games are made. As many of you know, I do the story and the programming for these games, but hire artists to do all the visuals.

Finding an artist is often a very expensive and time consuming job. First you have to find an artist you like, then see if they're open for commissions and then hire them for a trial commission to see if their artstyle matches your vision of the game. All the while running the risk that your artist just ends up ghosting you, two commissions into development.

Ahsoka for example has gone through many phases from many different artists and even now I am looking for new potential artists. The Hardmode picture for example, was drawn only last year. Long after Orange Trainer had been released.

Wrapping up

And that's it for this month's WIP post! If you guys enjoy seeing me talk about the development process of these games, let me know and I'll talk more about what it takes to get a game up and running =)

Thank you for your support and see you next month!
