Udemy is a site that hosts online learning courses for a fee and right now they are having a $10 deal on many (all?) courses. Sure, there are tutorials and youtube videos all over the place but curation is really important when it comes to self teaching resources.

Although I have some flash knowledge it's severely limited to motion/ shape tweens when it comes to animation and.... well... the flash engine when it comes to things like visual novels/ motion comics which is not great for mobile platforms. So... I'm learning after effects so that I too can be making those sexy flash things using mesh animation/ physics and post processing effects like motion blur that looks super good and better than what flash alone can do! I took the Motion typography course specifically because as a graphic design major it might offer something that caters to my interest just a tad bit more than a general overview of AE! As for the unity programming lecture it comes highly recommended and if I want to start doing visual novel/ etc for the types of side projects I want to start working on Unity is the way to go if I want things to get done in a platform that isn't clunky/ ancient like the stuff I currently know.

The 3d stuff on the other hand is just for funsies.

That said I don't have practical experiance using Udemy but so t his isn't exactly an endorsement (not that I'm being paid either way!) but I figured it was worth a shot relaying this information here for anyone willing to self teach new things on the cheap. Worst case scenario you are able to get a refund within 30 days according to their help section so what have you got to lose really?

I know I'm sounding like a shill but w/e sounding bad and worse yet, the picture i posted looks like an ad but it's not! It's a screenshot of the courses I signed up for. Oh well sounding bad is worth the risk if it means someone gets to learn something new.
