More serious than I thought. (Patreon)

The broken molar I have has been an issue for over a year. Basically I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted it removed or if I wanted to risk other possibly expensive options. Been so busy/ tired that I just wasn't feeling up to it until now, since it started hurting again... and pain is a good motivator. Got some X rays done and welp... no saving it now. It absolutely has to go. The dentist can't do the wisdom tooth because it's crept into the jaw bone so they're referring me to an dental surgeon for that instead. As for the molar ahead of it, the cracked open one, an infection has compromised any future work and it has to go.

Now that I know what's up I'm glad I went because apparently I've been sitting on an abscess in my jaw for a while... the saving grace being that the tooth, being open as it is, has been draining instead of becoming a toxic time bomb. I was prescribed codeine and antibiotics to help with the infection for a few weeks until they work on that tooth and from there I'll schedule the wisdom teeth. I just don't want to do it all at once because I don't know how much my immune system can take.

In the mean time I've been tired as all god damn.... since AC really. Some of you may have only seen me there for a single day. Others may have only seen me asleep as you were hanging out in the room I was in. I know for a fact that post AC I was sleeping on Gunmouth's couch for like... 15 hours at times. My breathing machine has been doing well up until around that point and then it suddenly just stopped helping. I had to pump up the settings so high that I had to tighten the straps on the mask to the point to where I thought I was bruising myself just to keep the mask from leaking. Nothing was visible but it felt bruised. The tiredness, the swollen tissue, the pain... all of this came from the infection in my jaw and that's what's actually been keeping my mask from being as effective as it should have been. Truth be told I would have been better off with a nose only mask at this time (and indeed I am buying one in times like this) but yeah - this infection has been pretty draining apparently! It's actually possible that it sprung up as a side effect to the steroids I took just a month earlier that lowered my immune system when I was fighting another infection!

Or maybe I'm just being silly. Either way it's happening. The tooth won't be coming out for another two weeks (only if the antibiotics have dealt with the abscess) and I won't be able to take the adjacent wisdom tooth out at the same time, which is what I wanted, since i need to consult a dental surgeon to even begin with THAT process. Yay.

All I want is a good night's sleep. God damn. Probably won't happen for at least a month. Hopefully this doesn't get in the way of moving to my new place.
