Early Morning Update: June 02 2015 (Patreon)

I would have posted this yesterday - monday - but I pulled a crazy all-nighter trying to get the last few drawings done in preperation for my 2014-2015 folio that is to be released in Anthrocon. I worked until 2pm, fell asleep, woke up, grabbed something to eat, and started preparing a few files for you! Although I hit the ground running starting this patreon 2 days before the month ended I still reached the basic reward tier to get the ball rolling and now I get to draw for my fans again.. yay!

I'll go ahead and upload the full and PSD versions of the first Mik Pic where necessary and the actual Pinup will come a little later.

For now here's a small thing I've been mulling over. I needed to redesign my avatar. Don't get me wrong, I like the original design of my namesake character, but a feral bodied Guira Cuckoo Gryphon was so tricky for me to draw it absolutely discouraged me from trying. It's not that it was hard - but I was really inconsistent and I would never come up with something I liked.

A Puffin Gryphon version however... has proven to go much more smoothly. It's toony and cute - I really like it and think this is a really successful initial run! If drawn at all I'm going to be fast and loose with particulars. Can be male or female or genderless or have normal hands or whatever whenever I deem it appropriate.

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes with the design though. That's always a fear of mine. I know there are several cute/ puffin/ short beaked gryphons/ characters out there and if anyone notices any perceived similarities with other characters it's purely coinciidental and is the nature of having such an lesser-used hybrid character. Noone would bat an eye at any given human or an orange fox... but start combining something less common and people tend to go a little nuts over who they feel owns what just because it may or may not remind them of something that came before it kinda.
