I'm a rambler. Time to ramble.

Please consider sticking around in regardless of what I am about to say. I still need your support. I cannot stress that enough. Patreon represents the eventual freedom to draw whatever I want whenever I want which happens to line up with the kind of content you all like. The reason I am able to draw what you see here is because of the support I get and the more support I've been getting recently has a direct correlation to the additional art I've been able to draw.

I like what I do here and I would like to do it full time eventually. For now I have to address certain things.

First and foremost... I can't post the Lana/ Cane comic here which complicates what I'm actually able to do with what I had planned. The content is banned. I didn't know how to announce it because well... it really bummed me out and I didn't know how to broach the subject. The content thing actually happened weeks ago but I figured now is a good a time as any to post it. That doesn't necessarily mean the comic is cancelled but without this being the primary vector to post it I find it hard to justify it's existence when people here mainly stick around for the pinups and colored sketches. So far comics have always been reaaally tertiary. I would like your honest input. Although I always liked the idea of doing comics the reality is that doing them well requires an amount of time that would severely diminish my ability to do pinups and if you would prefer me do pinups with writeups instead I would gladly do that in place of comics since it fulfills the desires of multiple camps.

The next thing and arguably the main thing I should address is the fac that Patreon is making changes to billing. Patreon will start charging you $0.35 + 2.9% of your pledge.

$1 becomes $1.38

$5 becomes $5.50

$10 becomes $10.64

And so on.

I am not happy about this. This is not my doing. Reward tiers are no longer simple flat numbers I had advertised and there is no way I can opt out of this system. If I had the option to continue absorbing the cost I would. Patreon pages all across the board are already losing patrons because this essentially punishes people who support multiple pages as, if I understand the new policy correctly, you are going to be charged processing fees for every single pledge you make individually. They say it's because they want subscriptions/ payments to be based on when you pledge and not a one time fee when you pledge then and then an additional pledge at the beginning of every month but the more I read into it the harder time I have believing in their reasoning. You should be able to schedule all your payments to happen at one time so you only pay a one time processing fee at worst but this isn't an option. It's much like how we, people who run patreon pages, don't have the option to use funds from our own pages to support others. We still have to pay processing fees even though the site already has the money and it's going from one balance to another. Mysterious that.

I was happy with them taking the processing fees out of my end. I had no complaints. I do not see this as a win for me by being forced to see the fees being forced upon you.

Still... I will continue to use patreon. It has been a blessing for the most part but the rumblings I've been hearing has really been making me nervous. I wanted the page and indeed the content I make to grow over time but this has a lot of us shook as people rightfully refuse to support the website even it if it means no longer supporting the content creators they came here for.

Personally, i love your comics man. Your art is beautiful and im staying whether patreon gets it together or not. Always happy to see your work. It always brightens my day

Pennies on the dollar matter little to my ability or want to support artists. As far as content? Comics, pinups, stories, etc. I'm here to support you and your work because I like to see it. Since you came into the fandom I haven't had control over what you posted but followed anyway for the enjoyment of "what's next?". Just keep doing that, do what you want to do and I'll be happy.

Loheleth

I genuinely love your style regardless of what form it takes (comic, pin up, flash, etc.) And if I have to spend a few more cents to see it, big deal.

I love your art, and I will continue to support ya even in these uncertain times. A shame about the comic, but that just means you'll have to do something else awesome in it's place. ^.^

Synariel

It's really too bad for the comic. Though i would LOVE to see you draw comics, as i appreciate them for more than the sketches or pinups, i am definitely staying here since i also love the usual content.

Roarschach

Dang, and I was really looking forward to the continuation of that comic. Oh well. Still love your work, whether its pinups, sketches, or other, so still going to stick around.

This change to Patreon is one that I have seen in many over places. On Discord, Twitch, even seen it talked about in games I've played. In my opinion, this sounds like stuff Youtube would do but with EA's lying to hide it. Basically, "we want money but we don't care about our user base even if they are what drives this site." said the same way as they did in the blog. For me, I'm not going anywhere. I will support you and all others I support. What I want is for Patreon to stop shooting themselves in the foot like so many other sites are doing.

I'm here to support your entire art not just 1-2 that I choose for myself cuz I love your art and I will continue to support you no matter what ;3

More or less just echoing the sentiments of everyone else commenting. Love your work regardless of what form it's in, though the the added depth of telling a story through comics and similar forms is always appreciated (do you still have any interest in exploring the visual novel format you experimented with a while ago?), and definitely going to continue supporting. Sucks losing the right to post the comic, and hope you can work out another avenue to posting it in a supported way. Also hoping that the swathes of criticism targeting Patreon make them reconsider charging patrons the processing fee, but won't be holding my breath for it unfortunately.

Damn, I was really starting to enjoy the comic as well... Maybe theres some other way of posting that can get you around patreon's stupid rule? I know one creator uses discord to post patreon content now...maybe something like that could work for you? Also, I'm planning on sticking around... I've dropped quite a few pages already, but that was because the fees put me way over my budget... I was forced to drop them in order to not be spending more than I could afford...but I should be ok now, so I'm sticking around. Hope you get this worked out... Patreon is really shooting themselves in the dick lately it seems...

I know it might sound like a pain but you could add the pages to Dropbox and repost the link everytime you add a new page to it. You're not posting it out right so no rules broken. You could also add completed pages to the monthly dropbox links as well as "bonus content". Also why is it banned. I'm not understanding that at all. Either way I'm here to stay X3

Charlie

This is some shaky bullshit to be sure. I'm gonna stick with you on this, as with the others I support. It's a few bucks more out of my pocket but they just switched the processing fees for probably internal tax reasons. (Or other such bullshit.) You get your money, and I'm ok with that. Patreon can stick their terrible reasoning where the sun don't shine though.

Nicoya

This change would have cost me an extra $40/mo if I kept on going on this site.

Silvador

Regarding the comic, you could post the pages to dropbox and simply supply the link without a preview. It's sadly unfortunate that yet another site has gotten squeamish about the content it is connected to, no doubt because of its large financial success. I truly hope you can find a work around to continue bringing -all- of your content to us, your fans.

I'll gladly pay fifty extra cents for more Mik booty.

Silvador

The content is banned due to the relationship between the two characters. *coughcough*

Tazer Silverscar

I'm struggling as it is. I know $0.50 extra doesn't sound like much, but I'm supporting at least 10 creators on here, and I can't afford to shell out extra money to everybody. I'd love to contribute more but my income is tiny.

Liarbird

could put it in the dropbox I suppose, or gumroad the comic.

Anonymous

gumroad have a history of aggressively accusing their customers (creators and patrons) of committing fraud and suspending accounts without notice or right to appeal and then being smug about it -- YMMV
