Hello, gang.
As you may know (or not know, or simply don't care), last week I went to a movie theater, for the first time since my epic return to the homeland three years ago. (Not quite true but I really do go to the movie theaters very seldom here in russia).
I can't stand russian movie theaters... Why? Because people behave like fucking apes. I'm not saying people in USA act perfectly when they go to see a picture, but you can't compare anything to the russian movie enthusiasts... At times it feels like I came to see a football game instead of movies... (From my experience Japanese public is the best in that regard, but I'm not gonna talk about that now).
Russian soccer fans, *khem* I mean movie enthusiasts are very loud, they use cell phones during the movie all the time and quite frankly I'm not sure why they bother to come at all since they obviously don't care much for the thing...
Another problem is - I always get in some sort of fight or an argument with somebody EVERY-TIME I go to see a movie...
It's like a curse or something... If there is one obnoxious loud fucker in the entire room, he is bout to seat somewhere in my vicinity...
Even back in USA it happened... I remember back in Seattle I went to some mall movie theater with a girl during the day time, pretty much just to make out. And It was us and a bunch of high-school kids... Nobody else... The kids were there pretty much for the same reasons I was there... But they didn't stop there...
We were at the row 3 or maybe 4. They were at row 99 or something... And yet they managed to throw a little piece of ice that landed right behind the collar of my shirt... Yeah, you can't make this shit up.
So in real life I often act impulsive even when I'm a lone... But when I'm with a girl... Well you know how it is. You always get protective and shit.
I'm sure I gave them a good story to tell their friends trying to explain them how they should behave with my "Niko Bellic" voice. Naturally they were on their best behavior after that but the movie was ruined for me...
In Russia it happens EVERY time... There always some fucker right behind me or right beside me who decides to make a call during the picture or starts looking for the keys he dropped or some shit... And don't even get me started to the food. I know everyone is doing it, but FUCK!!
When you go to see a movie do you have to bring an entire fucking food supply that could sustain a small army, with you? Couldn't you eat at home. Fucking buckets of popcorn! I hate that shit!
Yeah... I bet you are starting to see why I always get into trouble... But is it my fault that no one wants to behave the way I want them to? So difficult to find decent minions this days^^
I just can't help it and always try to explain such people why I think they suck and how much I hate their fucking guts... And the movie is always ruined after that... (For me at least).
If that wasn't enough I also hate Russian dubs... Oh man... HATE IT! There are to many differences between Russian and pretty much other culture, so you can NOT dub a movie without loosing half of the jokes... Every time I am forced to see a movie where Hollywood stars speak perfect Russian it makes me cringe... I often just try to read the actors lips when they "speak Russian".
Wow... That's a lot of text. Let's jump to the point then...
I went to see "Edge of Tomorrow " (yes, had to yell on some kids again), and I was literally blown away by the thing... Not the yelling, the movie I mean. I don't remember enjoying a movie that much since I saw "Avatar" for the first time.
So why did I enjoy it so much? Yes, the movie was good, but that was only the part of it. I enjoyed it because going in I had no idea what the movie is going to be... I didn't see the trailer, didn't read any reviews... all I had to go on was a poster I saw right before I bought my ticket.
***SPOILERS***
Yes, this may not be the smartest way to go see a movie, but, man, did it take me by surprise! Right until the first time-rewind happened I was pretty sure that that's the best movie of all times... The rewinding cheapened it a bit, but not but much. I was on the age of my seat thought entire time...
So, why am I talking about this?
Because I decided that I am not being stingy enough with the info I give out on "Hermione Trainer". From now on I want to keep as much as I can a secret! So that when you boot the game up all you will have to go on is the game title, the cover illustration and that it was made buy me. Just like in the old days, right?
He-he... Yeah, that could be a bit too much, but until I see that my patrons starting to pull away or something I think i can afford this...
Well I still will be releasing little updates of course, but I will try to be even more secretive then before. Especially about the game-play.
Yes this is probably not a very smart decision because a smart person would try to promote the game as much as possible to try and generate some hype around it... But what can I say? I'm a sucky businessman...
To soften the blow a little I took my time today to put together this "THE MARKET" wallpaper because somebody has been asking me to release one for a while now. I also gathered all my "JAK" related work from back in the day and put into one archive for easy access. The archive is in the attachment to this post. Nothing new in it... It contains all the comics and illustrations I ever did on Jak a few sketches and the wallpaper you see above this post...
And that's it for now.
P.S. We are also getting close to 2k in pledges... As I already stated on my ask.fm profile, my "$2000 patreon goal" is to shit my pants.
