Greetings, compatriots! How is everyone doing? I myself doing wonderful, thank you for asking. Today I finally had a chance to stretch out my drawing muscles for the first time after the move. Drawing again felt great. Although I did miss my near-prefect drawing setup I used to have at my old living location. In case you're wondering my drawing desk looks like this at the moment:

The desk. I am using a shelf I took out of a closet here in the apartment I am currently renting. When I draw I put one side of it on my lap and sort of prop the thing against the edge of the table. It's an old trick for when you don't have access to a proper drawing desk. It works quite well too. It's far from ideal of course, but I was able to create this wholesome Jasmine drawing on it, so it's all good.

The Merch. I would like to announce that during last week I did nothing about my idea to start selling merch. I simply am too busy with work right now -_- Thank you for all the websites, though. I do plan to look into them and try and create at least some design ofr a t-shirt and a cup or something.

More ideas from me. I want to try and sell my artwork (sometime in the future). I mean actual drawings on paper. Is there a website where artists sell originals of their work? If you know any - let me know in the comments.

The work. I choose to report nothing on the matter this week. Work is being done, but I don't feel like sharing any info at this time. Maybe next week :)

The games. I continue to play Zelda The Skyward Sword. Currently I'm about 22 hours in. An absolutely beautiful game. Got used to the controls. But starting to get a bit sick of all the puzzles -_- Just let me have my special alone time with the princess already. T_T (Although I guess, technically Zelada is not a princess in this game.)

New Nintendo Online Subscription! Personally I can't wait to play all those N64 games I never had a chance to play since we had no Nintendo in Russia. Also SEGA? Yes please! Original controllers look sick as heck, but I won't be getting those for a while. What about you? Will you be upgrading your subscription plan once it's out?

Swicth OLED. Apparently new screen is not just better, it's MUCH better. Watching reviews on YouTube makes me want to buy the new model, but the old one works just fine, so it would be a waste of money. -_-

Monday Surprise 06! This week's Monday surprise contains the original PSD file of one legendary CG in a crazy high resolution. (Also contains super hi-res JPGs.)

That's all. Thank you for all the support, cherished bros. I'll see you all next week. Love you dearly. No homo.

If you ever start selling a mug with that picture of Jasmine getting groped, please consider writing #shetoo on it!! :'D

Its crazy how well wii games hold up to this day. A great example is No More Heroes; in spite of its age, the art style holds up so incredibly well.

Left you a message on Discord :D

seriously all nintendo would need to do for older games is upscale and that's it. which will sell like a hot dam not a fan of subscription model though.

Awesome news, no worry there is no tush into looking to make the akabrand, all best in the quest to send your awesome art XD

Dude, be careful with your back, aside that I think Etsy could be a decent place to sell originals but I'm pretty sure you can find another ones or even sell them you here, on patreon, or make an auction (It's that the word?). Have a nice week!

For original artworks, i know that some artists do it on ebay, some on catawiki. I guess there are several other websites, which i don't know about :)

If you are interested in accepting commissions, please let me know. There's a particular drawing that I've wanted for quite some time that I would be happy to pay for.

Not much help on the selling front I'm afraid, but I can ask some friends. I know people used to sell prints via ebay. Not sure where the dedicated art venues are though.

NakedSunFlower

Well, get used to the new place and I think you should still think about the merch and its sale. Hope you show some ideas soon!

Awesome drawing! Jas cannot complain about not getting enough attention in this one.. :)

hey good idea of selling originals, but i hope it wont make a conflict. i mean, if it's original, it's limited edition of somesort, hope people wont be jealous to not get it before someone else :D (unless you decide to do multiples times the same drawing). Just out of curiosity.. did you tried drawing on tablet (drawing pad or whatever it's called) ? i tried few years ago and i find it very bad :/ (it was a good thing tho, my uncle is architect and he use one of theses overpriced tablet thing for his work, i try on this one). imho, nothing better than the feeling of paper. But maybe i m just a weird guy XD

oh, also, i m not 100% sure, but i think you can sell drawing directly from patreon. no idea how it exactly work, but seems like they allow selling product physical too and i m sure most buyer would be patrons first :D. You can ask patreon staff.

akabur

Right. In case just selling Disney merch won't get me into enough trouble :)

akabur

Yup. Photorealism in games is a bad idea. Stylized graphics for the win.

Usually I am also not a fan of subscriptions. But for some reason I don't mind this time. I would prefer individual releases. But this is better them nothing. -_-

akabur

The whole idea is to have a site where that could take of the logistics for me... Doing everything myself would be too time consuming. Well, if bad comes to worse I could always use Ebay I guess...

akabur

Thank you for the offer. I have no time to spare at the moment, so can't take commissions. But if that changes - I'll let you know.

The new switch is not worth it, because the ONLY thing they upgraded was the screen. I'd give it a hard pass at the price they are trying to charge for it.

MenasEru

Wait what! You are Russian?! Пашёль нахуй! :D

You have to make mistakes to learn how to do anything. https://www.goalcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Wayne-2.jpg

Your workplace now looks a little strange, but nevertheless it's not bad either, it's better than nothing at all))

Only place I can think off selling well physically stuff is Going hand in hand with digitally scanned copy. So you would advertise on e34 or deviant or so on and say you can send a hard copy too for extra. ANother option is to search asian sites. I know John K Peta only sells his hard copy of his extreme manga. But then again he has contracts. I live happily banned from Twitter sespool but I suspect you can advertise your selling's there too.

I just want to tell you sir that your content is MARVELLOUS. I mean, just the dialogs and jokes that you can find in Star Channel are a gem. Keep up the good work!

akabur

Well E-Bay could work if I don't find anything better I guess. I swear there are some sites dedicated to that sort of thing though......

akabur

The merch is something I constantly thinking about. Hell, I myself would order a "Jasmine's tears" mug. I just need to find the time to put it together -_-

akabur

I did try a few. From what I hear the I-Pad work well for this... But for me personally nothing beats actual paper.

akabur

I need to look into that. Although I would rather diversify as much as I can, I don't trust Patreon that much.
