It's close to a new year here in Norway. I'm with my closest family and we've been getting ready to celebrate later today with some good food and wee bit of a drink. It's the first time we do this in our new apartment and only me, Maria and the kids, plus of course the dog. Sadly me and my daughter have to jump on a bus this coming monday since she has to get back home to attend school again. You see, I live two places and the commute is either 9 hours with bus or 17 hours with boat... Plane isn't much better since there isn't a direct flight between our two cities here in northern Norway. Hopefully when the kids are older they'll attend school here where me and Maria live together so that I don't have to commute anymore, and that'll free up more time for work...

2022 has been a year of many ups and downs, not only workwise but also our daily lives considering the effect the war in Ukraine has on most of Europe especially. Restless times really, but I try to concentrate on the good things for now.

I moved away from doing all the original character art I did as that seemed to not tickle your horny bones very much, and rather went back to pure fanarts ;) Memberships did go up a bit after that, so instead of  a steady downward curve it has gone up again.  I've also been playing around with a more stylized look to my art, which I'm gonna continue to push as I'm not a fan of highly realistic looking stuff, it just bores me to tears :P I might begin to add a drawing each month that is much more stylized than usual, it's both exciting and very instructive as you often get these happy little accidents that you other wise would not have achieved with careful rendering.

2023 is also that year I (hopefully!) turn 50! I have been fortunate enough to actually make a living drawing my entire adult life, I'm very grateful for this. You guys have absolutely been a huge factor in this since I started my Patreon December 2018. Getting older does take a toll on the body, I do especially feel that in my drawing arm as I'm often left with tendonitis which will set me back days of work. I do work out and try my best to stay fit and healthy :)

One particular new thing for you Patrons in 2023 will be seeing a comic come to life... I've been working on one for a couple of weeks now and I'll have something to show sometime in January. It's a simple thing, I don't wanna go totally overboard with details and stuff and make it impossible to finish. I got the characters, main story and been sketching 4 pages so far. Just need to figure out the style and technique that both looks great, but is easy enough to draw. There might be discussions and polls as it moves a long, perhaps talking about what particular action you would like to see etc...

Hope you all have a great new years and that I'll see you all in the next year.

Cheers,

KJimmy
