i thought this would make it so one unpopular character wins, maybe you are bored of seeing the same things drawn by everyone

While the idea sounds good I think it will be almost the same situation since it can be very hard to make a cut between popular and unpopular. If misjudged a misplaced character can steamroll the unpopular-poll. Maybe you can solve the problem with extendening a single poll but also doing the second most voted character?

Maybe you could draw the most popular and least popular choices, you know, like the one with the most votes and the one with the least, to keep things interesting for the under dog

It feels like it will just wind up with the most popular of both polls getting voted. Not sure if thats the kind of thing thatd work, really.

It's a shame ranked choice voting isn't a thing on Patreon since this actually helps sleeper hits - because people predict the popular ones and downvote them. I think if you kept to what Patreon had then yeah this seems the best option. I think though that a metric of unpopular would need made - because what about characters of moderate popularity like Guilty Gear? Where does say, Elphelt or Baiken fall here? I think that's the hard part but yes, I absolutely would like to see some more rare characters being drawn.

I mean by all means keep dropping that Satsuki booty down but yeah, having an option for an unpopular characters might keep things fresh!

Rather than necessarily doing a poll for unpopular characters I think it'd be interesting to see you draw your own favorite obscure characters or popular characters from older games and shows from time to time that no one thinks of anymore. A more nostalgic approach I guess.

It'd be nice if it's not a hassle and not something that ends up defeating itself. But yes, there are certain stretches where certain characters dominate the community that I personally don't care for and get tired of seeing (like the Bowsette craze) or where characters from certain series/IPs end up on a poll and landslide others. If it doesn't burn you out, I'd say poll some more obscure choices and use your own judgement in that regard. You've done fairly well in that regard of putting out some characters I didn't see coming.

Not sure what you mean by 'popular' and 'unpopular' but perhaps having categories for famous, mainstream characters and lesser known, more nche ones, or even patrons' original characters occasionally (a high-tier perk perhaps?) would help to give a nice spread of choices, as well as spreading the word on forgotten beauties.

I'm also in the boat of yes as long as it doesn't burn you out or keep you from drawing stuff/characters you want to draw.

that's specifically what the YCH tier is for, as it will naturally skew to OCs most of the time i do not like votes of OCs because people with a couple friends will easily rig the votes, as in general OCs aren't widely known so the votes would be more or less spread out thin so i believe that'd be very disrupting

almost all the suggestions i received so far have been amazing for me, but they end up with predictable winners often with zero curation

I think this is a good idea I love to see Peach, Cammy and co but I would not mind seeing "exotics" too
