Patreon Discussion Thread (Plz read & Comment) (Patreon)

Hey hey everyone!

Wanted to get a thread up before I head off for the night-- quickly going over what to expect for the rest of the month (and why) as well as a topic over possible additional tiers thing.

Elephant out of the way; Slime sketch and MAYBE some side sketches I have done will likely be it for the rest of this month. Birthday and something that came across my desk this month has kept me from doing as much as I'd like-- which is why I tied pushing out two high quality pics (Clean sketches and a Render) as well as the Sketch Lovers piece. That and I have kind-of two personal projects (Bel and a Game Concept) I have been giving some attention as well as a small break for my birthday. TLDR: June was packed. That said, IDK yet what I will be doing for July in terms of the Sketch Lovers Event stuff-- as I am dedicating the month to pushing out and finishing commissions near full stop... So yeah.

With that out of the way (and hopefully not too much of a word-vomit-sandwhich); I wanna introduce new tiers to the Patreon-- but I have no idea what to exactly do. I know not everyone will be interested in this, but I have gotten more than enough messages, DMs, and etc. over it that its honestly become annoying... Not to say I don't mind it-- I don't know what else to do. I have a tier that is meant to be "I like your work but cant give much, so here is a buck your way" and the entry tier that pretty much covers high/full resolution pieces and alts... Past that I don't know what else I can do that'd be worth it. I know I floated around a Discord idea but that seemingly has kinda "meh"d out of implementing and with Goals gone, I cant seemingly put a goal up to just boost what we currently got... So I am asking y'all;

IF I was to add a new Tier, what would you like to see or have it be? Like seriously, what are some ideas or etc. that I could do for this? I have seen others do source files before-- something I am hesitant to do BUT isn't out of the question... An idea I did have was possibly doing a "After Dark" tier that is purely smut that I'd normally wouldn't upload or claim. Talking sketches of pieces unedited to be something else or etc-- namely stuff I put my OC in that tends to be... "Personal". Its an idea, but one I am a bit iffy on as, I don't upload or claim those for a reason... Namely because its extremely out of character or just non-canon fun.

Let me know what y'all think, hopefully this wasn't too hard to read or etc. If anything Text-to-speech it back to ya if you don't wanna read and then comment what you'd think. Can even be to tell me not to change anything-- who knows. So ye.

Some thoughts for higher tiers - I've commonly seen things like priority commission slots, discounts on commissions, or even outright monthly sketches and whatnot, though of course, that may be a higher workload than wanted/would have to be kept very limited Releasing source files is certainly another common one, though I personally haven't had much use for it A discord...could be fun, but its also a hell of a lot of effort, especially if you aren't sure if you wanna do it Perhaps could have patreon only art livestreams? Don't recall how much you live streamed As for the "After Dark" stuff... As a degenerate, I'd love to see that kinda stuff, its fun to see where artists wanna go, though in turn I again understand if its just too uncomfortable to show some of that stuff At the end of the day though, more tiers means more work, and especially if you're busy, I would 100% understand not wanting to add more. Heck, I actually kinda appreciate having only low/pwyw tiers, cause ho boy am I already spending plenty on other artists already and can't keep putting more money into patreon

Yeah as Alchemical said I don't think It'd the best idea to create more tiers right now, It just would add more work and your schedule is already pretty packed, it'd be nice in the future once you get more free time. On most patreons higher tiers usually add some kind of rewards like discounts, requests, early access to comics, etc but that would add some workload (same as a discord, and personally I really never saw the appeal of them, they always end up the same). Im into a lot of weird kinky stuff so that after dark smut perk would be very nice but depending on the price it really depends, for me personally I really couldn't afford anything over the current basic tier and I feel like a lot of people are on the same situation. I feel like you could get more people intro patreon in general if you actually posted and publicited that kind of content in a different account if you dont feel okay with having them posted in your main one, I feel like it'd be easier to get 5 people to pay 1 usd peer month than 1 person to pay 5 usd peer month, but that's my take, I really never got close to even thinking about making a patreon so It'd be hard to recommend anything without proper experience.
