31st July - work in progress 'Dancers at the mansion' (Patreon)

I had a brief word with Camilla - she was working very hard on her course.  Apparently it is very physical and they are working long hours but it is absolutely brilliant in a lovely atelier.

Hope to get more of an update tomorrow. 

In the meantime I have been working on my painting.  It is not finished yet - the figures on the right need a bit more and some of the paint needs an extra coat.  But I want to keep the brushstroke very loose so I won't overwork the figures on the right.  I am trying to lead people's eyes towards the dancing lady.

It has been a bit of sad time recently as you know so I wanted to do a happy scene to remind me of the joys of life here in Spain.  These are dancers from the Festa Major.  I have enjoyed painting this as most has been done from my mind more than reality. I am going for feel more than accuracy.  I wanted a sense of magic and joy.  

The frame is not real - I like to see things with a frame on sometimes.
