So today Camilla was busy painting the old garden furniture for when her sisters come to stay for Jessica's 50th. We may not keep the old garden chairs long term but for the next while it is nicer than rusty old chairs laying around!

Inspired by her action I decided to tackle a restoration project I didn't get to last summer. Which is restoring this lamp which used to be on the veranda and I suspect hasn't been cleaned or repaired for many decades. I have always been intrigued by the shape which I find quite charming. It reminds me of a fairground ride for some reason. The horrid bulb will have to go too - not pretty at all.

Anyway I got to use my Dremmel which makes me very happy.  5 hours later I had to stop due to bad light but it is making progress.  I am hoping to be able to paint it tomorrow.  I am intrigue as to what it will come out late but whatever the case I think it will have to be an improvement on its current very sorry state!
