In recent days the fountain has got a makeover.  I absolutely love the contrast of the gleaming white with the dreamy stonework of Can Punxes and I thought that you might like this picture I took.

I do find it a bit strange that that the incredibly proactive council here are so wonderful at keeping the square nice and clean (they really are incredible at looking after it), yet the wall behind the fountain is covered in horrible graffiti. I wonder if it is because it is a private house.

It would be so good if it could be painted over in some way (cleaning graffiti from stone walls as we found out is majorly expensive so I think with flat walls like this painting them a neutral stone colour is probably more sensible).  Graffiti is definitely a problem in Catalunya, seems to be less so in Madrid and other parts of Spain we have seen.

ps Tonight's Travels with My Friends vlog is a trip to two of the Sultan's harems in Istanbul.  It was a really thought provoking visit so do have a look if that is of interest.  Some of the tilework too was absolutely stunning.
