5th May - work in progress (Patreon)

Today if I am honest has been a really tough one work wise.  But bad days come and go so I must remember that.

On a far happier note  I did want to share with you the painting I am working on which as you may remember I did an iPad sketch on a while back.

It is now in oils and I have kept the colours super bright by painting them very thinly on a bright white canvas.  It isn't quite finished but this is where it's at currently.  I am not aiming for realism but atmosphere

I wanted to capture in colour the magic of the house and the magic of childhood and the sense of a small child engrossed in her world in a big room.

I hope it turns out ok when finally done and also that I don't overwork it.  There is always a fine balance and it is definitely small steps at this stage.
