22nd February - an amazing visit to an amazing lady (Patreon)

Today was a rather stressful day involving car repair workshops and replacement car hires... BUT on a much much happier note, very near to the car hire location we popped in to see the most amazing business run by a lady called Benedicte who has a business called Mesa Bonita.

Throughout Barcelona people are still to this day tragically ripping up throwing away their incredibly beautiful (and valuable) tiles called hydraulic tiles. These are the tiles our floors are made of at Can Punxes and are one of the reasons we fell in love with the house,

Benedicte feels passionately about saving these incredible tiles and so started a business collecting and restoring these by literally rescuing them from dumpsters.

I want to show you more pictures tomorrow including an amazing discovery we made when we met her. But for now here is this picture of her workshop. These tiles when polished are incredibly colourful and beuutiful.   We also learnt lots about how to care for our tiles based on her 20 years experience!
