31st January - a slightly worrying post (gatepost) (Patreon)

A slightly worrying development.  A small chunk of one of our beautiful gateposts has randomly fallen off I guess in a high wind.  It fell into the garden so I think it is the house side not the road side that has some weakness.  We are making sure we don't hang around by them but it looks like it is not chronic a this stage.

It's a bit worrying though because it shows there must be some deterioration (caused by water) to these rather splendid structures which I think at some point will have to be addressed and I am not sure will be easy or cheap.  Another item for the list renovation list.

I love these gateposts so much I hope the damage is not too bad. The current gates are rather ugly and we have to have this unattractive signage as people keep parking there.  But in the future we hope to make them all look more attractive!

On a more optimistic note I now have a new paperweight!
