13 December - a family heirloom (Patreon)

Today I was given this wonderful family heirloom by my Dad and I wanted to show you. It is a gold watch from the 19th Century which used to belong I am told to my great great great grandmother Lady Mary Stuart. At some point it was converted to a wrist watch,

It still works although I am not sure yet how well it keeps the time.

I find the contrast with the blue and gold particularly beautiful. It has an Edinburgh hallmark.

Hopefully this will remain in the family for many generations to come! I would like to wear such a beautiful watch myself but I think it might be for one of the ladies of the house!
