After the strong winds caused something strange to move about on the roof a couple of days back, I decided today to go and investigate. I got to the bottom of that mystery (another story) but then realised an opportunity presented itself! In delving deeper into what was behind the falling off shutters obscuring the light from entering our home through the stained glass at the top of the stairwell, I uncovered an enormous collection of droppings! Does anyone know what animal these might be from? This waste has now been removed and Elliot and I are together undergoing a painstaking deep clean of the windows, involving removing the glass from the the delapidated wooden frames, to clean and put back with additional beading. I’m extremely excited about the effect this is going to have as already the difference is so much greater than I had expected. More to follow. For now, this is the beginning!!!

And Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends. I hope you are enjoying time and conversations with loved ones x

However looks like bat droppings an expert could identify the species of bat from the droppings! Bats are great help munching on mosquitoes and other insects x

Thank you Jeanette. That is really useful. It looks like it is definitely bats. I love bats so I am glad. (If it was rats I would be moving into a hotel!)
