Make no mistake it was my intention to find light bulbs - temporary solution while our other fittings have disintegrated and we search a replacement - with a little twist to brighten up our bathroom. A fitting M! Albeit I only have two. Magical Mansion? And as I cleaned the sinks today I couldn’t get over how beautiful they were with the new taps. Still traces of their derelict life before - the one I photographed here had been completely defunct - dripping tap with water leaking out of the base from a lead pipe. But sadly there’s a lot still to do. I need to paint over where the wall had been repaired after the leak which spread into this room from the outside wall and somehow I need to have a go at buffing off these tiles. Apparently the limescale removal product also removed the outer surface of the tile and to right it, it needs a diamond style fine abrasion with a sanding machine. I’ll let you know how that goes!!

Hmmmm, wonder if you removed the glaze off all the floor tiles to show the grey tones then re seal with a floor tile sealant in whichever finish you like gloss or matt...just a thought. Or contact an artist who repairs ceramics and ask their advice. Whatever happens it's all part of your wonderful restoration journey. X
