September 6 - editing, getting quotes and learning the lingo! (Patreon)

Today is vlog editing day - so Camilla is hard at work in the office - or ‘Mission Control’ as we call it!

Mat has been doing more clearing of the tree trunks in the garden and chopping them into firewood.

We have also continued the process of getting quotes for the various bits of work that need to be done. - this is so important as some things we really have no idea on how much they should cost so we need to get a selection.

We had someone come round to look at the facade at the back of the house. One of the interesting things about the house is that it is built around an iron structure not a wooden one. This means the building is very straight - but like an American skyscraper of the time I guess. Sadly though of the iron outside is rusting pretty badly and that then causes the iron to weaken and the structure around it to be under threat. Luckily we are told that our iron can be saved but we can’t leave it for much longer without sorting it out.

As time is so limited with running my business and lots of other priorities - I have tried to combine walking the dogs twice a day with learning Spanish by listening to the Michel Thomas Spanish lessons. I do it on my morning and evening dog walks - I am getting some odd looks as people think I am talking to myself when I do the exercises!

I was wondering whether any of you have tried Michel Thomas for any languages and had success?- So far it is really good - now I just need to put it into action. I am typically British when it comes to languages - i.e. not very good! But it is getting quite frustrating for me now so at least I am now motivated. The challenge here is the Spanish isn’t really enough - I need to learn Catalan too to fit in with the locals. But one step at a time!
