Last night's evening with new friends was lovely.  They have done a beautiful renovation of an Americanos property not so far away.  It has a white interior so it is different to our house but still absolutely stunning with an incredible finish.  Throughout the evening they gave us amazing tips about renovating in Spain with heaps of great contacts as well.   They also served rather wonderful cava and made us feel very welcome! I had to limit myself sadly though as I had a big online work meeting this morning.

One of the most exciting contacts is someone not far away who specialises in restoring shutters.

Most of ours are in a very sorry state especially the ones in the front which have had decades of children playing football against them when they knew no one lived inside.

Next week we will make contact with them and see what the pricing etc is so we can see what we can afford at this stage.  I expect doing the whole house in one go will be way too expensive but even getting say the most broken front ones done would feel like an important signal to the town that this special house on the main square is gradually coming back to life.

We will need to decide do we restore these ones which are very badly damaged with a lot of rotten wood, or replace with new woods ones of exactly the same type.  Or, do we go for iron ones of the same colour which are of course far more secure.  We have been assured that they look great on historic buildings. I am initially sceptical about iron ones but I will hold my position lightly until we have seen some in real life.
