17 August - a touch of Egypt (Patreon)

Good evening everyone (or good morning depending on where you are).  I really hope you enjoyed tonight's vlog - to hear the very exciting news about the dining room ceiling!  - and to get to hear more from "Auntie Nessie"!  She really is fabulous and very talented so we feel so lucky to have her in the family.  We will post an interview on Patreon I did with her within the next week.

Today has been a big clear up day - but I wanted to show you this from the first floor landing which I paused to take photo of earlier.  It is one of my favourite patterns in the mansion. And if you think it looks a bit Egyptian you are right.  Apparently Egyptian art was a very big thing in Austrian Art Nouveau and the artists who worked on Can Punxes must have been influenced by that movement.  

 It is simple but I still really love it!
