Diary post 29 July - Grafitti removal, and entertaining anxiety (Patreon)

Good morning to you!! It's all systems go at the MMM today.  At 8am sharp our amazing graffiti removal team arrived like clockwork.  They have done an incredible job on the outside wall.  The graffiti here in this part of Spain is a real problem- it is everywhere and such a blight.  But hopefully if we make our wall clean that will be a start.  I expect some will come back but we need to be on it like hawks so a not to encourage more.  It is an unbelievably time consuming process - walls that takes only a few minutes to deface can take days to clear up and is an expensive process as there have been 3 experts working all week on it.  (they are amazing ladies by the way so dedicated and professional - we love them).

The other big thing today is our first ever MMM entertaining.  It is very small scale with just one or 2 couples - one couple is Catalan I think or certainly Spanish, and the other couple the lady is Catalan.   One couple we met because they knocked on the door to say hi and the other we met at the Americanos festival when they came over as they heard we were English and introduced themselves (honestly the people in this town are the best).

The big problem is that the our outside Kamado grill (Big Green Egg bbq thing which is amazing) isn't up and running yet as we haven't yet got the special charcoal for it.  And the oven is too old and dangerous to use.. so we have a little entertaining anxiety, especially as we are so exhausted after such a crazy few weeks,.

So I think we will simply stock the fridge with Cava (!!) (made locally ) and go shopping for some salads and quiches. 

 (We are looking into a new oven as Camilla is a fabulous cook and not having an oven is painful! )
