Hey peeps, so I'm not sure if some of you have seen my last few tweets so I figured I'd post a message here about my current situation to keep you all posted.

A few days ago, one of my SSDs failed to boot with my computer after a hard shutdown. PC was running hot during a game (YES IT WAS FORTNITE SUE ME), but then the computer wouldn't start with said drive. Initially I thought my graphics card had given way. This SSD contained a majority of my SFM projects, including Last Day in Town and Dragon Slaying 2, as well as some Blender models/textures.I made a backup of my SFM projects in June, but this goes without saying that if I can't recover this data, I'm going to be set back a few months from my releases. I'm deeply sorry, it's been nothing short of frustrating for me. Definitely a harsh lesson that I'll be backing up much more frequently from now on. :(

Most of the Spideypool/Venom short remains intact, but I will need to redo small amounts of work that I deem negligible (as most of the project is contained on a safe drive).

I've taken this SSD now to a data recovery centre to assess whether said data can be saved. It's expensive, but I'm hoping it can be salvaged in its entirely, if not in part. The initial meeting with the technicians seemed optimistic, but these things are never for sure. I'll be hearing back from them in about a week, and will keep you guys updated here.

Thanks for your understanding, and I'll resume your regularly scheduled bara soon.

Damn, I hope they can recover the data. Solid-State memory isn't as easy to recover data off of, compared to magnetic platters. Have you considered using an off-site backup like Backblaze?

I have been through a situation like this before and I share your pain and frustration. It sucks, it just does. I sincerely hope that you can get at least some of the data recovered - I don't know how intertwined SFM projects are with files used in them and how well it would work, but I do hope that you can at least get something back. Don't worry about the extra time. Your projects are always worth the wait! :3

Oof, i hate that i know how you feel, back in february 2020 i lost complete access to my hard drive and wasn't able to recover it's contents to this day, i lost so many working files of my older drawings... hopefully you won't have the same fate as i did, and don't worry about pushing the dates, we all can wait a bit longer as long as the work stay as great as it currently is! =]

Sorry to hear that, I am checking everyday if you are making something new, I am super hyped for what's too come. Will you also start doing phonk edits again?
