This bonus content is a little different than what I usually do.

I think most of us have a... complicated relationship with 2012's Prometheus. The more I watched it, the more I realized that most of the problems I have with the movie could be pretty easily cut out. Recently, I finally did it.

Since I can't just give you this new cut, I've attached a Premiere Pro project file where you can link your own ripped version of the Prometheus Blu-ray and export the new cut to watch.

I know that most people don't have Premiere Pro, the Prometheus Blu-ray, and ripping software, so I've included a 45min video that goes over all of the changes I've made.

I don't usually like to criticize movies, so if you're interested in the rare opportunity to listen to me complain about the dialogue and over-exposition of Prometheus, check out the video above.

*You might want to listen on 2x speed because I'm kind of a slow talker.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Hi Tyler! I'm converting an mkv of the film to mp4 so I can export. I will probably watch it tonight and I will let you know my thoughts. Your video is lovely and was very informative. Prometheus has an interesting story in there somewhere. From your 45 minute video I feel like that interesting story is clearer. Thanks again!

Awesome! I'm really curious to see if this works. The file of the movie I used has an exact runtime of 2:03:43.

Thank you. I saw the file's runtime in Premiere Pro in your video :-) My mp4 is the exact same length. :-)

Thanks for the video! It helps iron out some of the issues, though I wish there were technology advanced enough to re-do all the scenes containing science-related dialogue, or what Damon Lindelof seemed to think science is. Maybe you have come across it already, but there is a very entertaining and illuminating video titled "Scientists destroy Prometheus" over on Youtube. It's from a podcast episode of "The Skeptics' Guide To The Universe" by Steven Novella. It addresses a lot of the bad writing in the film, from astronomy to biology/genetics to basic scientific thinking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osBFSuTRTqk Cheers!

embarrassed to say I've not seen it, now I want to see it.

Davenzane Hayes

my first thought was, I hope he cuts the dad flashback scene. Thanks!

It's a very frustrating movie. I'm super curious to hear the thoughts of someone who has only seen my cut of the movie and see if it makes sense without some of these exposition scenes.

Hey, Tyler. I'm finally getting around to this. I had a question about the number of audio tracks but I figured it out :D Exporting now!

Okay I just finished watching Tyler's Version and oh my goodness! I dare say, Tyler, this is not only highly watchable but it is a fun movie to watch! Does it work? Oh, you better believe it! I LOATHE Prometheus in its release/theatrical form. Well done!

cinematyler

Awesome! So glad you liked it! IMO, it really says a lot when you can cut 20min out of a movie and the story still works.
