A toxic gamer becomes more positive.

Commission for Smokey.

This was a welcome opportunity to draw a bimbofication sequence where the protagonist develops a positive, bubbly personality without becoming incompetent. Toxicity is often misattributed to skill, so I wanted the message to be that friendly, cooperative players who acknowledge their own mistakes win more. Implying that positive players are dumb bimbos also seems like the kind of thing that could lead to another viral controversy.

With this and the previous piece (last month's patron request, Salon Bimbofication) I made a conscious effort to separate my lights and darks. The image is split into light and dark values with the brightest shadows being darker than the darkest lights, throughout. This makes for starker shading compared to my usual pieces:

It's amazing how much our interpretation of a color depends on the colors surrounding it. The legs in the first two steps of the gamer sequence are completely different colors but, instead of looking like she's wearing two-tone pants, it just reads as a difference in depth and lighting!

Sketch (with less stepfordized final step) and inks follow:

Happy Pride Month! Stay positive and don't blame your team!

Finally, I can't ignore what's happening in the US right now. It makes me very sad that the police state kills black people. I've donated to a bailout fund and encourage you to contribute in whatever way you can. Black lives matter.

How adorable is this!?!

RHüz

She has a really striking face throughout this sequence - a sharp, prominent nose, almost ferretlike in the intensity of the shape described by her brows and nose-bridge. I like how she *retains* that throughout the transformation - it marks her as still unambiguously *herself* in a way that many transformations (intentionally or unintentionally) do not. Very cool.

In the last two sequences I took inspiration from real people for the characters' likenesses, to make them more believable. Hair salon lady was loosely based on Christina Hendricks, while our gamer here is inspired by Anya Taylor-Joy. I feel the latter was more successfully "integrated" into my style, though it could also be that the expressions in this sequence are more exaggerated. Thanks for noticing and for the kind words!

Easily one of your best sequences... everything about this is great and such a welcome pick-me-up in these crazy times. Thank you for this!!!

Thomas Tolliver

You and Smokey are both awesome ;)

It wouldn't be possible without your support, too! Thank you so much!

I’ve already told you how much I love this, but while I noticed the difference from your normal coloring process, I couldn’t place my finger on what it was exactly! It’s very striking and distinctive, and I love to see your style evolving! Everything in this is top notch!

This is great. it totally reminds me of how valuable a positive mind set can be in a competitive game setting.
