Discord Rooms/Games? (Patreon)

Hey y'all. Happy New Year!
I'm told the Discord server is a little light on rooms for the amount of users we have. Feel free to suggest some room ideas.

Also, I'm not opposed to buying a game server for my Patrons. I know Simon Magpie already has a Minecraft one, but I'm open to ideas of anything that is cheap or widely played.

Just my 2 copper on channel suggestions: * Rules (should be the first page people land when they arrive) * Gear * Science & Technology * Meme Containment (of course) * Echo Chamber (A channel all about reverb) * Videos (place to chat about the videos that brought many of us here) * Games * Music

It would be cool to have a channel for getting deep on science/philosophy, and I feel it's fitting. A place to talk existentialism, astronomy, future tech, anything that blows our little minds (Mind altering substances optional)

Projects - to find people for coding / music / hardware projects and to bounce ideas around. Get practical! Audio Engineering - Help and resources for learning to mix and master. Also lists with links to resources would be great. Let the swarm collect resources and gather them at a central place so everyone can benefit :) Maybe a separate room for this?

I have a Rust server that I just spun down. I can really quickly fire it back up if anyone wants to play Rust. Interest?

I finally managed to figure how to use Patreon. I understand Benn that you are interested in existentialism, so a room around that would be interesting. Something to study and discuss the intersection of music and technology will also be cool, which is where I kind of function. Cheers.

There are some people in the community that enjoy diy. Would be nice to have a DIY channel to discuss everything from building your own hardware to programming your own music software.

Happy NY! So, I've added the following: - Audiogear - Think-out-loud - Youtube-channel-feedback - computer-audio I'll add/remove accordingly. Also, apologies that I'm not more present in the chat. Most of my free time will not be in front of a computer until January 20th or so, in which then the rest of my winter will be spent in the same chair. :)

I must be blind where is the Discord server link? :( This thing is way too convoluted for me. I've spent waaay too much free time trying to figure this shit out. I connected Discord through Patreon and then I tried the help section. I'm lost and the Patreon app is buggy. Now I am going back to Ableton and get real work done... take care

I think discord is a terrible chat platform, but I manage to use it with a cli app called `cordless`.

Agreed! I built a riser for my synths and I'm planning on building a sound booth kinda thing this year. It'd be great to share with others and I know people would have some tips and gotchas to watch out for with this kinda project.

Thanks, I'll look into that 👍 I think my problem was that I wasn't "added" yet,...which is the part of it all that I didn't quite understand had to happen first. I was getting a little frustrated. All fixed now
