Honestly I enjoy Kusakabe's character. He's somebody who just wants to preserve his own life, which is a kinda lame in a cast full of clashing ideologies, but still sort of unique. Despite that desire, he still steps in and risks his own life to defend the students. I feel like Kusakabe and Nanami would've both gotten along well, since they both seem like disillusioned/realist types who are still willing to shoulder the burdens of those in their care. I also love the parallels between Nanami and Mei Mei. Nanami's a good-hearted person under his stern exterior, who left a job exploiting people for their money and believes strongly in protecting those younger or less experienced than him. All he wanted was to gain a decent retirement fund and spend the rest of his life living peacefully in a beachside cabin in Malaysia, and he chose his final words carefully to not be a burden on Yuji. Meanwhile Mei-Mei openly bribes people, is driven purely by money, and uses Ui-Ui as bait or to carry her axe. Thanks to his technique, Mei-Mei can stay at high-end Malaysian hotels whenever she wants. It's sort of cruel how Mei-Mei can be such a morally grey character yet dip her toes into the life Nanami wanted.

Just pointing out that the entire Shibuya incident takes place in like 5 hours. We don't know if Yuta was still in Africa when it started but if he was, there's evidence that he was in Nairobi in the JJK0 post-credits, and a flight from Nairobi to Tokyo is like 18 hours.

No manga spoilers, but Kusakabe is my personal Nanami. I love this man because he's always thinking about the big picture and is the first to assess the situation, just like Nanami's reliable nature.

Yeah being fair, anime time does screw with our perception of events lol The first time it happened to me was when I found out that the entirety of JoJo's Golden Wind happens in, like, 2 weeks
