YOOOO LETS GO I WAS LITTERALLY REWATCHING THE REACTIONS TO THE FIRST FEW EPISODES

Anonymous

OMG NEW JJK WE LOVE YOU THANK YOU LETS GO BOIS WE EATING TODAY!!!!!!!!!

V STAN

Noice

CJ Garcia

They composed this battle like a kaiju, where the ants on the ground witness and suffer the effects of two titans clashing. It is horrifically awe inspiring. The song feels like Sukuna came and dabbed on Yuji. The lyrics are basically sung from the perspective of the villains, reveling in the chaos of it all.

Exiova

Idk i feel like crunchyroll should have at least put the lyrics in because the opening is bascially sung from the villians perspective. So i think its supposed to be like sukuna laughing at yuji's pain.

SHOCK

oh no! i guess some people were right about the opening being used as the ending song ruined the immersion. It was supposed to be a really gruesome scene with Itadori breaking down. nope, Alicia started laughing. it didn't take away how I felt so bad for Yuuji, but for others it wasn't like that.

Aspy 130

I understand what they were trying for with the music and the lyrics being like sukuna laughing at him. but it just completely kills one of the biggest moments in the show for me and I hate it so fucking much

Schleep

Nah I 100% agree with your opinion on the song placement. I legit had the same reaction 💀

sammy

Fun fact!! The part where the monster was in the small pool tumbling like a ragdoll was animated in water color paint.

Anonymous

I would like to point out the song is from Sukuna's pov making fun of Yuji. Some of the lyrics reference the destruction of Tokyo and devouring everything.

Anonymous

Alicia read the JJK opening lyrics and you know why this song is perfekt there <3

Charlie baker

Lol me during blue eye samurai while they playing goofy ass lill bill tracks instead of playing the story serious

Anonymous

In terms of the Music playing at the end. I think it kinda enhances the scene since it's basically mocking Itadori. Special is specifically saying that Itadori is his special. Sukuna loves torturing Itadori so playing his theme song near the end for me is like rubbing salt in the wound.

Anonymous

yeah, I think it helps if you know the song is basically sukuna mocking itadori, but if you didn't know that, I guess it would seem pretty out of place, so I can understand where she's coming from

Anonymous

The lyrics to the ED is kind of a twisted love song. Like the curses mocking Yuji

SHOCK

I knew the ending was gonna match up perfectly with this arc as soon as I heard it.

Jae

Had the same reaction to the direction they took with Yuji. Even after learning about the song's meaning , they can still use the opening but at least use it when Yuji's not screaming and talking. Can have the best of both worlds. Even if the lyrics were there on screen and understood its still a jumbled mess with Yuji having his moment AND the lyric symbolism.

Malik myers

also for the ending gege akutami quite literally openly hates yuji so that could always be a posbility

Anonymous

Fun fact. One of the smashed buildings during the fight was modeled after Mappa studios by an animator. Out of spite.

Ockto

16:30 "Domain Expansion: LA TRAFFIC!"

MoD+

It like watching animals in a zoo. its nice but you feel bad. same here with the animation while knowing the situation of the animators.

MoD+

I am one of the guys who find the song fitting. IDK why people are upset. maybe not listening to it? But yeah you gave a good explanation why it took you off. Thats cool

Izaiah Sanchez

there's definitely good and bad ways to put an OP at the end of an episode, especially when the episode is still running. That being said, that was phenomenal and practically a mic drop to end the episode. Peak.

idk if Alicia reads these. But the point of them playing the opening is to have Sukuna taunt Yuji even further

Virtuous_Wanderer

Oh that's funny as fuck. Especially because of how faithful they were to represent locations and building designs in Shibuya but studio Mappa is in Suginami. Can't say I blame them tho... they did work the animators hella hard

Virtuous_Wanderer

I feel like if the beat was different and less funky then it would have been fine, but the funky aspect was out of place for me

Virtuous_Wanderer

I feel like the Lyrics and guitar were fine, but the funky beat at the beginning of Yujis breakdown was a bit too out if place

Mgdoe

That ending scene spawned so many memes and one of the most memorable moments in a recent anime that it feels like a intentional mess up

Big Fuze

While on the surface is seems misplace but if you look at the lyrics it’s sukunas last middle finger , the whole song is from him to yuji talking shit

KaijinGarou

Alicia spoiled herself again

Sand Man

laughing at 35:50 was WILD

KaijinGarou

Yeah I 100% agree that song takes away a lot of impact that was rightfully earned.

Fun fact. Every Big fight that Megumi had first season he almost used this technique.

Nuclear Boarhead

Nah, I liked the song. It was put there to mock Yuji. It's what the series is all about.

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

I think Sukuna meant mahoraga or something could previously beat him before being sealed but I can be wrong.

Quade Hudson

I politely disagree, Alicia. Itadori is Sukuna's special. The whole song is mocking Yuji. I think it's perfect for what it means.

Joel Sasmad

It is not a mess up at all. The scene is emphasising the world mocking Yuji for his heroism and naivety. It is so much more cruel and brutal in it's own way than giving Yuji the respect of just focusing on his pain.

Liesmith

Sukuna switching back to Itadori right after obliterating a chunk of the city is like farting in an elevator right as you step out.

《æ đůđę 》

I cannot imagine the first ten shadows user summoning the last one thinking it'll be a bear and then proceed to see THAT

Quinton Macejkovic

I like to think they thought at first that Mahoraga's power is to induce heart attacks because that's how the first user died after simply laying eyes upon it

Anonymous

The music at the end I feel was intentional. Gege doing the equivalent of a fortnite emote on Yuji's suffering

Doonieman

29:20 That part where Big Raga is walking towards Sukuna is animated like that because it’s showing his flesh just being erased by the domain and growing back instantly as he adapts
