Machine River

Ahhh you don't know how long I've been waiting for this episode. That line Deku said, "Everyone in my generation knows the sight of All Might rushing over faster than a speeding bullet" is such a powerful line and it really puts into perspective the state of the world and All Might's influence on it. Lady Nagant was trying to take advantage of Deku's hero alignment and have him break focus by putting him in a tight spot where it's impossible to save someone, but it's because All Might has already proved that the impossible can be possible. Lady Nagant's faith is broken. She's been disappointed and hurt time and time again in her life and her worldview is one that's really pessimistic. She has no hope for the world amidst this chaos and so she's decided that siding with All for One is better than nothing. But Deku is different. It's because he grew up watching All Might on TV that he knows the upper limit of what heroes are capable of. It's because he grew up in this generation that in that moment he was able to move without hesitation. I think hidden in that one line it says a lot about this entire generation of heroes. Many pro heroes so far have already given up and retired, overwhelmed by the despair and chaotic state of the country right now. But it's those kids that have been instilled with the faith that All Might, the symbol of peace, that are able to see the path to a better future. It also says a lot about All Might and how he really succeeded at his goal of truly becoming a symbol of peace. But his biggest fault in being a pillar of society was trying to be a sole pillar, IMO. However his biggest success was inspiring a whole generation of young heroes who will theoretically be able to disperse and shoulder exponentially more burden than All Might could ever do alone. That's... my take on it at least.

The beginning scene with All Might is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. The villains know he's powerless, but the second he tells them to get out of his way, they remember real fast that even without his powers HE'S HIM.
